I too struggle with depression and anxiety. And jewelry making and painting helps me through the hard days. And you are right it’s silent. I do 3-4 craft fairs a month and do very well at it. I’m sure my customers think I have it all together. But no. I feel guilty when I don’t create in a day because of the way I am feeling. The anxiety and depression is new for me it’s only been about 4 years struggling with it. But I do believe being creative helps a lot. It’s better then taking meds that’s for sure. I relate and empathize with your struggles with depression and anxiety. I was diagnosed with chronic depression 30 years ago. With therapy and finding the right medication I’ve been able to mange it fairly well. I appreciate you being so candid in the video as I feel awareness is so important. I also raised a child with ADHD, he was five when diagnosed and is now 40. I’m happy to hear that you are slowing down and making self care a priority. Gina, I can only imagine how many attempts it took to get through this video. So personal and so heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your story. I took suffer from depression which took a turn for the worse when in 2014, I lost my 17 year old son Brandon to a car accident. It took me more than 5 years to even think about doing something for myself like starting a new hobby and beading saved me. As I go through life, I'm reminded every day of my loss, but more so, the love. Brandon sends me the most unbelievable signs letting me know he's never far. Most signs are the number 42. His basketball jersey number. Just now I was starting the process of entering your contest and there it was! #42! I'm going to try and share a screenshot. Years ago, my son and I were doing family therapy and the therapist told me that I was a functional depressant....meaning I suffer from depression but don't show any signs of classical depression. I think that we all have bouts of depression ....I think what is important is to be able to recognize it and deal with it in a positive manner. You were able to recognize the signs and symptoms and you dealt with it in a positive manner. Having support is very important too, to be able to have loved ones to stand beside you and help you work through it is so valuable to decreasing the symptoms as well. I am so glad you are doing well and I look forward to your upcoming videos! Keep up the good work!

By you speaking about it, many of your viewers may find that they are not alone and can get help. So kudos to you for doing that!! It gave me something positive to look forward to whether watching unboxings (my stash has expanded greatly as a result) or learning new techniques. You are not alone.
