This is a great example of how resistance in a street fight would cause bone breakage. The art was refined to be safe and spiritual but still potentially deadly. You do it amazingly well!

European here. I have been practicing Judo since '78 and Ju-Jitsu since '93 and I took my daughter to Judo and Ju-Jitsu - I wanted her to better understand her own spatiality, her own physical potential skills, teach her how to fall without hurting herself and, incidentally, possibly allowing her - I'm not going to lie - to get out of a potentially dangerous situation for her - and I find that Aikido is magnificent.

great stuff man, you guys do all these real scenarios and do it strongly and have alot of scenarios like aikido vs this and aikido vs that which many critics will try to compare and that is a natural mental curiosity i suppose for every man because they are skeptical about the effectiveness in a real self defense situation. i have always loved aikido and i practiced for a few months during the other place i was living at. the dojo wasnt that great. now the place where i am living at i found a great judo dojo and am loving how it is very similar to aikido and alot of fun! we do throws and apply technique in a manner that is mechanically effective to use force smartly.....i just got done reading morihei ueshibas book.

In America we often see grabbing of clothes when weapons are involved. This is called a leveraging arm. For instance when the attacker has a knife he will grab the shirt so the victim cannot get away while he stabs repeatedly. When an attacker is using a gun for intimidation, such as during a robbery, he will likely grab the victim's shirt to keep distance so the victim cannot grab the gun. Alternatively instead of grabbing the robber will place the hand flat on the victim and push or straighten his arm while demanding goods.

Grabbing the chest while unarmed is sometimes done for intimidation. Personally I am not intimidated by that since the attacker now has only one arm he can use while I have two. I had someone try the chest grab with me once. I cut into the side of his elbow with my tegatana and pushed that into his center to unbalance him. He relented and I did not continue into iriminage just told him to sit quietly and wait for the police. I had been I. Y The process of restraining his drunk friend that had just attacked and severely injured a bouncer. The drunk ended up with a broken arm from resisting my rokyo. A sad situation.

This is not always effective when the defender grabs the arm with both hands. Because the hands are chained and the face is open. In this case, the attacker can hit the face with the fist of the other hand.

少林寺拳法と合気道は間接技にはそれなりに共通点がありますが、投げ技は見た目は似ていても術理はかなり違うのではないかと思います。袖巻返とか一見合気道にも似た技がありますが、基本のキの字から全く違う技術ですね

その地域の治安による。アメリカでも銃で脅すのは普通にある。最悪のとこだと物陰からいきなり銃撃してくるけど、ここまで酷いのは紛争地帯とか、最底辺のスラムだけだと思う。つまり治安維持が機能してなくて、そのへんに死体が転がってても誰も気にしないレベル。
