Last played in 2010 or 2011.. The game is AWESOME when you get mods that let you update the look of Darth Traya or give her another hand. Or go with an all Jedi team and have some awesome looking lightsaber colors. I liked the 2nd more than the first. But both get a 10/10 in my book.. Now SWTOR online is about a 6/10. It was fun for a couple years but it got repetative.

I don't know what it is; just this tropical environment that almost looks like the less populated Hawaiian islands, yet, as Canderous points out, is full of crashed ships and has this unnerving air to it. My grandmother bought me this game for Christmas in 2003 when it came out when I was only 10 years old. It took me months to figure out how to get past the first level of the endar spire. But gradually as I’ve aged over the next few years I figured out how to complete each level and plan it as I got older. I literally grew up with this game step-by-step and it took me years to complete but by the time I did I feel I was far wiser for it as a middle-age teenager. Now as a nearly 30 year old this game remains my favorite game of all time and channels my distant memories from my childhood which I will always hold dear because this game is so timeless and its design is flawless which probably has attributed to the growth of many of my generation. If you are someone who wants to play KotOR but you are worried about the gameplay: If you build your character right (which is very easy to do) it starts to feel more like an action game than the super "slow, etc" game that a lot of people describe it to be. Combat at mid-higher levels consists of this and only this: [Cast Master Speed -> Use Master Flurry -> Target dies] OR [Cast Master Speed -> Cast Force Storm -> Everything dies] This can be done in real-time and the animations are weirdly satisfying for a reason that I cannot really explain. So while it is a bit clunky at times it is not as slow or boring as a lot of people describe it to be.

KOTOR was my first proper RPG game and it was the game that made me love RPG's in general. The main reason why I got into it was because it was Star Wars and I was really into Star Wars for a time and I was searching for good Star Wars games and everywhere I looked everyone kept saying that this is simply the best Star Wars game in general and they weren't wrong. I played other RPG's before this one but never really understood them and I didn't bother with them much, but I stuck to this one simply because it was Star Wars. After I finished it I liked it so much that I wanted to search for other similar games and long story short, RPG's became my favorite genre. Eventually the top spot was later taken over by other RPG's, but it will always be special to me because it introduced me to what is now my favorite genre and all the other great games in it. I don't think I would have been much into RPG's if not for this.

Always loved never hurting to help in RPGs and other games, you know... my most recent example being that Google Doodle Tokyo Olympics game. Finished all the tasks there, and ended the game on a high note. The "create your own character" system is something I will never forget. I never heard of Kotor until I saw people preaching about how good it was. I played it for the first time in 2015. I was so excited when it arrived I bunked off college just to play it. Best decision ever! Despite the primitive graphics and combat system I was hooked from start to finish. The story, plot twist and characters are legendary. Kotor definitely left its mark on me and still has to this day.

A decision that made your life that much better! As it has all of us.

I remember first time playing KOTOR 1 I kept getting shipped a bad copy. By the time they sent me a third disc it could actually play. It kept freezing when i go through the door after killing the first rancor on Taris. Hilarious memory but it was always my favorite game growing up.

Fun fact, Kotor 1 is less then one MB big on PC. I am interested how big the remake is gonna be and if my PC will be able to handle it.

Hi! Great video! If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to record the game? I've been trying to with OBS but the game keeps crashing... Thank you! =]

March and June 2021 is ironically the first time I played Knights Of The Old Republic and Knights Of The Old Republic II The Sith Lords. And I fucking love those games and now the first one is getting a remake.

I had pre ordered kotor and got it the first day it came out. I had never played a turn based game before and hated the combat so much, i only did the Endar Spire and didn't play it again for months until a friend of mine convinced me to stick with it. Thankfully i did because it ended up being my favorite single player game ever and i actually like the combat now.

My favorite Memory of KotoR is slightly negative. I was playing through the game just like all of my friends were, but I was farther ahead. And Joe, he looked at the screen watching me play for a bit then said, "Your playing as Revan." Keep in mind, he hadn't beaten the game yet, I actually was farther in the game than he was. He actually didn't know but some how things added up and he just blurted it out. And at first I denied it, thinking that didn't make sense. Then I sat there and pondered it for a bit more. Little past events started to connect in my head and it completely blew my mind. Later that night, I got official confirmation from the game but I already knew what I was going to see. Till this day, I still rag on Joe for "spoiling" it for me. lol

I began playing it last week, and i can safely say it's definitely 100% worth it. Timeless stories are enjoyable even a thousand years later. I'd only recommend people play it with HD texture and Widescreen mods installed, as it essentially remasters the game to 2022 standards, making it much more enjoyable to play (Kelphelp has an entire video dedicated to remastering the game through mods, highly recommend it)

my fav KOTOR memory? definitely it's ambience. it's music, being different on every planet. the feeling of actually being free in this so magnificent game, to go back to X planet if I wanted to. the lore, the story itself. hell, when I was a kid, the first time I encountered the Rakatas I was staggered. then I found out that they actually held great power. I like to learn new things, but when it comes to Star Wars? sign me the f* up

I think it’s totally worth playing today, the gameplay may seem dated and so are graphics as well but the story, character, quests and world building the game does is the reason why this game is arguably the best Star Wars game ever. Heck I typically go back to it on PC one every year and it doesn’t get old to me.

I have so many memories with this game each of them equal in greatness. One in particular is the name I gave my character. So I of course was young like so many of us when we played Kotor. So I decided to give my character the surname Skywalker, knowing it was set 4000 years in the past. In my imagination I figure hey what if this was the start of the Skywalker name I understood lineage and family names. To me it fit but then the twist happen (I'm not going to spoil it) that moment I got even more excited. For my head canon this reveal fit so well why the Skywalker's were so powerful in the force, I also was romancing Bastila so it made it even better. Two powerful force user coming together to make a powerful family line. I know it isn't canon but damn to me it was and made my first playthrough and the twist even better. That's only one of many great memories with Kotor I will love. This game is what solidified me to be a Star Wars fan for life.

Just started replaying KOTOR a few days ago, and after stumbling onto this video, the game shows its age for sure, but man that oldschool Bioware charm works so well with the setting. I don't find the story particularly great, particularly on a second playthrough but every character shines in their own way

100% worth playing in any year, man. My favorite memories of the game was the freedom of choice and the Bastila romance/character arc. I had a turbulent childhood and Kotor 1 and 2 along with psych rock helped me escape to peace.

I misremembered the part where you can convince that person to jump off the ledge; I thought it was in Mass Effect. I played through the first two games in the Legendary Edition before I remembered it was from Kotor. Kotor was the first 40+hrs rpg I played truly evil in, and I was surprised at just how evil you got to be. Usually for my first playthroughs I'm the goodest do-gooder to ever good, or play a mostly good char. Not in the Star Wars universe though. I was sith all the way, a real SOB. Getting that guy to jump, out of all the mayhem I caused, for some reason still sticks out to me (though not enough to remember the correct game 😳) as one of my favorite "holy shit the game let me do that!" moments. The Sith outfits are sweet's one reason I like being the Sith. Also it's cathartic killing the space-monsters and non-human scum across the galaxy. Makes for easy decision making too, just picking the most evil options. Butchering that smelly wookie and his tentacle-headed lady friend was quite rewarding as well. When I was done with them the air was heavy with the stench of burnt hair and the ground was littered with cauterized flesh chunks. The gore was not graphically rendered, I just get into it, you know?

Vrook Lamar: The lure of the Kotor is difficult to resist. I fear this quest to play Kotor could lead you down an incredible path. Or something similar to that

Just finished on the switch. Honestly one of the best ports I've ever played. The graphics are extremely sharp and the game plays just like I remember it. 100% recommend.
