This reminded me of when I had chance to use Trimble Yuma 2 controller while ago. They definitely built them different back then compared to new ones. It was so heavy and dense(quality) that it probably breaks the concrete first rather than concrete breaking the controller. :D

I haven't heard of that controller. I'll look it up... Yes this Topcon Tesla is very rugged. My Leica CS20 which I use now is not as tough in my opinion.

Can you make a video, on your metal detector? Will a cheaper metal detector do for GIPs?

I’ve always been a Leica user for total station but started out with Topcon GPS as it was more affordable. Now fully Leica. It’s good to have a spare kit just in case.
