@sinusbradycardia Agreed. As Cliff Rold, of Ring Mag. said,"He was the total package, even if it rarely looked that way. He wasnt the fastest. He didnt hit the hardest. But he was an intelligent and ballsy battler at his peak, able to employ sly head movement and keen footwork to bring home his left hook to the body and even more lethal precision right hand. Chavez was a jack of all trades, and defying cliche, a master of more than one.

Vintage Chavez. Although he was not known for being slick, he was in his own way. great jab, straight right all while slipping punches to get close enough to land his hook to the body and head. LEGENDARY!!!!!!

What a war. Larry Merchant said it best, Chavez has some sophisticated boxing skill, not just a brawler. Even after he lost to Randell, in the second fight with Randell in the 4th round he boxed Randell's ass off. No matter your opinion of the fights ending and that surprised the shit out of me. Manny Steward wasn't lying when he said Chavez could really box if he wanted to.

@TheChoice264 He did everything well and also something great though, he took a punch better than any fighter in recent memory during his prime. As Angelo Dundee said before Chavez vs Taylor 1, Chavez was the toughest fighter he had ever seen bar none. However, these tough brutal fights may have shortened Chavez's career somewhat. Rosario, RIP, an extraordinary puncher did land some thunderous punches on Chavez. Punches that would have left so many other fighters counting sheep.

Yikes, I would not have wanted to be Rosario's ribs, I wouldn't be surprised if he cracked a few. Those left uppers were nauseating to see, haha.

@mildendo Yeah that was a lame excuse by Rosario.

Clearly Ray Leonard was a great boxer, but listening to him as a commentator was always pure torture to my ears, not to mention that more times than not his comments brown nosed in agreement of the lead commentators. I'd rather listen to Big George Forman because you could tell that he was having fun and was a down to earth person unlike Leonard who acted like he was better than the fans whose presence he would always refuse to say a word to. Someone was always there to step in between him. He walked around as if he had a broomstick stuck up his ass.
