I'm sure this has been said before but let me repeat with emphasis, these guys are a match made in Groove Heaven! I've seen cats who were excellent in their own rights but couldn't play as a unit to save their lives. Great musicians still have to "gel" in order to groove like this. Kudos. God bless you Brother Serge I just laughing a lot because talking with a few Musicians friends about different versions of Four Play Eastbound and I tell them after we see so many great sound Bass and also the right key ,,,they Can't get the rhythm in the Bass lines they have the idea but they go behind the ground out of time they try to photo copy note by not the the Bass line from Nathan East hahaha I'm a drummer like you bro and for so many years I play I hate if I have to carry on with a slow bass players that wen we all are on timing he coming behind even a few second in the bit I hate that ( figure speech ) I don't hate nobody I'm Christian brother but I tell you because why they focus in the note by note and they can't focus it the timing !!! is so bad . NOW !!
