The fact that Ahsoka and Obiwan are like the only 2 force users that can rival vaders power at this time is so cool to me. They each get a half of the helmet, but Ahsoka chooses to stay for anakin while obi wan lets him go. Says a lot about the feelings of a jedi and how Ahsoka isn’t one. I also just love all the call backs, the “then you will die”, both saying anakin when they see his face, even the framing of the beginning of the fight. Some people may think it copies too much but I think that seeing how outside of padme these were the two people he was closest to, it makes sense they would have similar confrontations. It also just makes anakin feel much more cold in the rebels fight because he has been through this before, all I can think is him having flashes of Obiwan when Ahsoka ignites her sabers. Really wish Ahsoka would’ve atleast been referenced seeing how much her duel with Vader influenced this fight.

I dunno if its just me but for whatever reason I wasnt on the lookout for easter eggs this time compared to Mando and Book, possibly because of the time period it was in, but it was still a fun time recognizing a few stuff. Jabiim’s mention was neat as I remember the Jabiim story from Legends continuity. The main easter eggs that got me was in the initial Path safehouse because of the Aurebesh etchings. Some of the names mentioned are massive deepcuts that by this point I think would only mean something to the most diehard Legends fans.

As to the eopie's name, in the first issue of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi comic series, it is revealed that the eopie's name is Akkani. Perhaps Obi-Wan had more than one eopie throughout his time on Tatooine, but my favourite name is honestly Akkani, since it is very similar to Anakin.

I didn't care for this series & thought it made a new problem for every one it solved, but I will give it this: it did make Obi-Wan calling him "Darth" make sense to me. Before it always felt like the little writing goof-up that it was...he used it like a first name because originally that's what it was meant to be. But now I can see it more for the retroactive explanation: it's just Obi-Wan using the title passive aggressively. Like, you don't even get a name anymore. This is what you chose to be, so this is all that you are. I think I'd heard people try to explain it away that way before, but I couldn't hear it until McGregor sold it.

I know there's a bunch of references that i noticed and were not in this video,but the one i can think of right now is that we see Vader in the bacta tank a few times before the fight with Obi-wan and he doesn't have the scar on his head that we see in "Return of the Jedi" but after seeing Kenobi slashing his helmet right where that scar should be, we know now that's how he got it. Also right before the fight he says " i must face him, alone" just like he did on "A New Hope" Vader also uses the force to crack the ground and making a hole, putting himself on the high ground. After his mask is broken we can hear that weasel sound when he breathes just like in Rebels and Return of the Jedi. Vader tells Obi-wan that He did not kill Anakin Skywalker, that Vader himself killed him, which is what Obi-wan tells Luke when he asks what happened to his father.

In ep 5, many of the stormtroopers of the attack on the base are from the 501st Legion, the costume club. They have a mention in the credits and ANH armor instead of the newer type first seen in Rogue One. This is the second time this has happened, as they were with Gideon's reinforcements in the last episodes of Mando s1. I hope this will keep up, as a fellow trooper in europe it's fun to see. :P

Obi Wan's character arc from this season has left him very much like ANH Obi Wan so we wouldn't get much personal development there. I doubt he'd get tangled up in more big adventures using his lightsaber and force powers etc because I think that'd just lead to more empire stuff, and I honestly think less might be more when it comes to the empire and Obi Wan right now. He definitely shouldn't meet Vader again until ANH. Also I think getting him mixed up in the crime of Tatooine would just be messy. He is going somewhere though, a little walking tour of the planet with long conversations with Qui Gon about the force and universe and life and balance and etc etc. That might make for an interesting short story, but I'm not sure it'll be very entertaining as another whole season of this show.

The obi-wan having a brother is a reference to the Obi-wan books in Legends. I don't remember the name of the series, but back when he was an apprentice to Qui gon. After joining the Jedi he did visit his parents again once or twice. (think parent visitation days) On one of those visits he learned he had a non-forcesensative little brother. He mentions feeling disconnected from this family and that the Jedi and Qui-gon are more like a family to him. It being a little brother is most likely supposed to mirror Anakin becoming like a little brother to him in the future.

The only thing that does not click in my head continuity-wise is why does Vader say in TNH to Obi-Wan that "When I left you I was but a learner. Now I am the master.".. Even if he means when they said goodbye before parting ways in ROTS, still as comrades, he was far from a learner's status by then.

Here's the way I interpret it, hopefully this helps: Throughout the series (as well as the movies), we see Anakin/Vader think in terms of raw power levels - this even applies to the entire empire, from Inquisitors (Reva's power struggle, for example), down to regular officers (like the one Tala intimidates), and culminates in Palpatine shutting Vader's ambitions down. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan has repeatedly proven that wisdom and discipline overcome simple power (after all, he has defeated the most dark side users, while consistently the underdog). So, when Ben defeats Vader again (against all odds), just like he did on Mustafar, Vader is left with the impression that he himself simply wasn't strong enough yet, that he still had to learn. Ironically, the only thing he couldn't learn, was to gain and rely on wisdom, as that's kind of impossible to Sith.

@@StuartLugsden he was listed as alive by the Empire in the Vader comic (albiet a while back) and was talked about in the present tense

I wonder though, since we see Owen warm-up a bit with Obi-Wan at the end of the series, does it contradict a bit the journal of Obi-Wan we saw in the main Star Wars comic book ? Because it really didn't seem Owen liked Obi-Wan there
