Umm my boy Hephaestus was more than the god of fire, he was also god of blacksmiths, metalworking, carpenters, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metallurgy, and volcanoes. He designed Hermes' helmet and sandals, Aphrodite's girdle, and Achilles armour, among other things. Also despite being born lame he was able to marry Aphrodite.

The Greek word for "volcano" is hephaistion-and Alexander the Great's boyfriend was called Hephaistion.In Latin this god was called Vulcan where we get "volcano" from.

@Pro Semite It’s difficult to site because it’s the story I heard from my mother. In her version of the tale, or the one my family tells (there are a lot of versions), Hestia was the first eaten and then Demeter when Chronos/Kronos barfed them up Demeter and Hestia where the last to come out so they could be the oldest or the youngest depending on which order you go on…

In Hellenic the name is Ηρακλής / iraklís Every word that starts with a vowel in Hellenic has a ‘’h’’ in English… Iraklìs means: Ηρακλής / Iraklìs Ήρα + κλης / Ira + klis Ήρα + κλέος / Ira + klèos Ira it’s the name Hera (íra in Hellenic) And kleos means glory. Ironically enough, Hercules means glory to Hera…

@@loolykinns3172 it's fine, alot of channels on KZbin either use based information from wiki Wich tends to be wrong or told in a different tone, or they butcher the name and tell the stories in their own way. Fun fact: Triton had a sister named Ursula both being children of Poseidon and Amphitrite, yeah that would mean Ursula from the little mermaid was Ariel's Aunt.
@kelleygreengrass
@kelleygreengrass Жыл бұрын
I don't mythological Triton had a sister named Ursula. At least I never heard of that, I mean Ursula means bear and I think that's Latin whereas Triton is Greek. I've heard Ursula being Triton's sister is from the original concept of The Little Mermaid not a myth.
@Thunor93
@Thunor93 Жыл бұрын
@@kelleygreengrass nope she is in the myth, well she really isn't ever mentioned besides the names of children Poseidon had and with who. Ursula is Latin I guess but people forget that half of what is Now Italy was once Greek and the other half were many different smaller kingdoms such as the truscans aka the tuscans of Tuscany, then you had the very small kingdom of Latin (yes the people were called the Latina) who would go on to conquer the northern half of Italy and call themselves the Romans this making the Language of half of Italy Latin, they would then go to war with the Greek half of Italy that would last over a hundred years with the last Greek territory being Sicilia aka Sicily Wich is the same island Hades kidnapped his wife Persephone and is the same island that was created when Zeus buried Typhon under a mountain in mythology. So yeah Ursula is a daughter of Poseidon, infact Sicily is the only place in Italy that still use the Greek names of the Olympians. Though they also use the Roman names as well, depends on Wich side of Sicily you are located. Not the first time Romans adopted something Greek.

Medusa was mortal and was a priestess of Athena until Poseidon decided that it’ll be a good idea to get revenge on Athena by raping Medusa who swore to remain chaste. Theeennn Athena punished Medusa (because Poseidon is a god) and gave her snakes for hair and a stare that turns people to stone 😁 at least that’s what I learned 😅 Ok ok he now got to that story 🤣

I'm more familiar with the story of a beautiful mortal girl, being raped by Posidon at a temple of Athena, Athena being angry at the girl, and turning her into a Gorgon, the famous Medusa we are familiar with today. Jeez, there is nothing 'godly' or just, about ANY of these gods. Petty, selfish, impatient, cruel. They are more like devils, or even just plain human, than gods🤢
@Thunor93

Okay.... Persephone wasn't tricked by Hades , she willingly ate half of the pomegranate (in some tellings it's the seeds she eats) thus having to stay half the year, she actually fell in love with Hades an Hades adored his wife, people assume he cheated on his wife first, but Persephone cheated first (Adonis, Zeus and another), other then that one time , hades was actually the most chill of the gods. Out of his siblings Hades and Hestia were the best. People only feared Hades cause they feared death Wich is normal, sadly modern media paints him as the devil cause he rules over the underworld.
