In a book called "My Life as a Spy" Robert Baden Powell told stories about investigating whether Bosnians were superior runners to those in other countries (true if they ran down one of their many mountains), about how he had an officer who noticed him looking at large cannons at a train yard, eventually help him by allowing him to walk around the train yard (to get closer to the cannons) and then helpfully got him on the train to make sure the spy he caught was no longer in country, and of course my favorite is the story about the Turkish sentry who after Powell claimed to be French, had given Powell a tour of the fort and their cannons, apparently they saw the French as trustworthy and not British.

Simple. In the 1940s it was common knowledge that Antarctica was being utilized for weather modification, and manipulation. The earth was discovered to be a 'closed circuit' and.from Antarctica, her trade winds and weather patterns could be literally played like an instrument. For proof you can still go to libraries and access microfiche (if they haven't phased it out for the trustworthy never edited or "corrected" digital media caches) Start around 1940-41 thru 1948. Try scientific American, National geographic, etc. It's all right there.
