In Tokyo they use blue lights to create a calming effect on train platforms. In Glasgow they use blue lights to stop junkies from seeing their veins in toilets and on the streets at night.

Tokyo is not split into prefectures It’s split into 26 city’s and 23 wards. Kanagawa Saitama and Chiba are prefectures that are next to Tokyo.

Yeah, that's the problem. Tokyo prefecture is one thing, and Tokyo metropolitan area is another. The metro area includes surrounding prefectures where a large percentage commute into Tokyo.

I went to Tokyo last year during the summer. All I can say is that I had the best time of my life when I was there and it was a dream come true to me since I’ve always wanted to visit. I grew up as the biggest Godzilla fan ever and I stayed at the Godzilla hotel in Shinjuku too. Watching this video just makes me want to go back even more so now and not a single day passes by where I think about my trip to Japan.

I used to live in Tokyo ( technically Atsugi in the Kanagawa Prefecture) only 3 years ago. Even have a tattoo inspired by the Senso-Ji Temple. Videos like this make me miss it so much

I live in Japan but could never live in Tokyo. It's just…too much. It is fun for a visit and I sometimes go for a weekend or so but any more than that and I'd go crazy.

32 is wrong. I believe that Tsukiji has been dismantled and they now have a new Fishmarket. However I can't remember where the new one is. I believe that Tsukiji was abandoned in October. I think that they still keep it open for Tourism as it is quite famous.

It relocated to Toyosu. It's called Toyosu Market now. The area around it is really, really nice. Has a takoyaki museum, Tokyo Joypolis, TeamLabs, and a bunch of good restaurants.

Yeah, that area has been completely flattened and is under redevelopment. There are a few seafood restaurants and shops in the area and they're still popular, but they are the ones that were outside of the official market. Basically everything moved to Toyosu.

Tokyo is only in Tokyo prefecture, and Saitama and Chiba are apart of the Greater Tokyo Bay Area

Getting to see this awesome video totally reminds myself about how like 10 years ago I was lucky enough as a teenager after spending so many months in hospital to have a very luxurious like week for holiday in Japan where I’d spent so many fun-nights within a big-cool hotel around Tokyo + I still have numerous from the many treasures which I had acquired from that totally terrific-trip overseas so thanks 4 such a cool train of thoughts! (which also reminds myself about how I’d also gotten to enjoy time on several Shinkansen when travelling with so many of my family members like my mother's older sister who had been joining ourselves with how the timing for it allowed for herself to also come along & pay for the parts which she had been wanting to join on)

Punctuality is a very unique part of japanese culture, how and when you arrive somewhere is pretty much one of the most important ways to show respect in Japan. I am not 100% sure though so take this with a grain of salt. I will research this later

Someone probably already said this but, Around 2:01, “ has all the same letters mixed up”. I’m not sure what you meant lol. The letters in English might be mixed up but in Japanese, Tokyo looks like this 東京、while Kyoto looks like this 京都. Just figured I’d clear that up just in case.

Lol Sam. You don't say Konichiwa as hello. Thats meant For Good afternoon, Which is generally followed, with O genki Desu ka. Generally you want to keep it formal for Your elders But You can keep it simple with friends, and generally used with small talk. ohayou genki desu ka (Good morning how are you Non formal) Konbanwa (Good Evening) Konbanwa! Kyounotestodoudatta? (Good evening How was the test?) Oyasumi (Good night!) However This is non formal, Always keep it more formal, and respectful, to your superiors.

To everyone studying Japanese here: Never say O genki desu ka in Japan. Don't know why textbooks are teaching this, but the Japanese don't do small talk. If you ask a japanese person how they are feeling they will be confused and don't know what to say. Especially if you are not close to them it can be kinda rude...

No. The temple isn't just one building. The temple is the grounds and buildings on it. The location still exists. Maybe the main building was rebuilt, but nobody's arguing that.
