101 Female Singers Vocal Range (Least to Most)

This was a REALLY hard video to make (and it's been like 4-5 months since I started editing this maybe?) because I had to search through KZbin for about an hour for some of the artits due to how much information I had on their vocals, if you think I included notes that shouldn't count or missed ones that should, feel free to tell me about it! But please try to be kind because it was NOT easy to make a video with 300~ notes from 101 different artists, I did my best lol. I did include some "exclaimations" but I avoided them if they sounded either screamed or extremely pitch shifted. I did not include any whistle exclaimations if the singer has never shown the ability to whistle. I didn't include some low notes that people used on their videos (mostly for the Korean singers) because they were JUST air, no chest voice no sound like Luna's C#3. I DID however include fry-mixed or mostly airy notes like Miley's C#2, Beyoncé's F2, Britney's E2. I think it is fair to include them however if you do not personally count them, sure. Then all three of their lowest would be G2's. I also of course didn't pitch 300 of the notes and did use other videos on KZbin as references so if you think there are mistakes with the pitching please point them out! Thank you and be sure to catch me on Tueseday Morning March 21th where I'll be performing for the first time in a special concert in San Fransisco's Historic Castro District on Good Morning America and I promise you, it'll be a morning to remember. See you soon. (wOuLd yoU hOLd iT aGainST mE)

Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J and Kesha's ranges are written incorrectly, J-Hud has 4 octaves and a semitone while Kesha has 3 octaves and 11 semitones. Jessie J has 4 octaves and 8 semitones, not 5. PLEASE read the description before commenting, I had to delete a lot of dumb comments about why a note "counts" and some braindead ones mentioning "sUpPortEd rAnGGeeEe" please just fuck off if you don't wanna see what the video title refers to which is a vocal range ranking for female singers. This is NOTTTT a ranking about tecnique or "support" I did rank these 101 singers based on range however if they had the same range then I looked for who had the most range in full voice (chest/mix) and ranked them in that order. If they ALSO had the same range in full voice I put whoever belted highest higher on the list because we love belts, lol. However if they had the EXACT same range (Like Nicole and Jade having D3-B5-G#6) then I just put them in random order, it doesn't really matter lol. Also please keep in mind that VOCAL RANGES DO NOT DETERMINE SINGING ABILITY. Of course Nicki Minaj isn't a better singer than Whitney Houston and of course Britney isn't a better singer than Barbra lmfao.

The fact that most of the whistle demonstration is Mariah Carey's Emotions. What can I say? She IS the blueprint.
@kylerill
@kylerill 4 жыл бұрын
What makes this even more impressive is that all 5 octaves and 5 semitones of Mariah Carey’s is singable. Which means she actually is capable of singing all those notes in between her range unlike many of those in this list which are just exclamations and hitting them. I think Beyoncé is another one in this list that is capable of singing in her entire range effortlessly.

@@katan4974 If you're talking about Beyoncé, her support is good all the way down to C3. I don't see how that's "really bad" for a woman to support as low as C3. Where she loses support is in the second octave, but still, it's far from bad, considering she's supported quite a few second octave notes. She's also consistently supported up to F5 throughout her career, with ease, if we are to judge by how relaxed her face was while she was effortlessly hitting them back to back, without any signs of strain and she had the stamina to keep on going. And let me not even start on her head voice. Supporting over 3 entire octaves of range ( C3 - F#5 - Eb6 ) is far from bad.

Exactly! The art is to connect the notes and sing there - not to produce the sound. I think if you ask avarage person on the street would be able to make sounds on this heights. Even Maria Callas - greatest opera signer used to sing from F3 to E6 and it is considered a lot in opera. So pardon me- are those ladies better than legendary Maria? No, they can make sounds but dolphins can make sounds - Maria actually could sign - a diffferent competition.

Anyone who has every heard Your Girl knows there's a C8. The problem is, it's not melodic. That's why it's used as background decoration not as a singable note. Yes Georgia Brown can sing in the 8th octave but I wouldn't count that towards her singable range. Georgia's actual singable range is much smaller than what is stated in this video.

Mariah has a B7 on "Can't Let Go" And there's a video of her "singing" with a dolphin that has an alleged F#8. But, let's give some love to this. It's a huge video incredibly well edited, congrats.

Mariah and Georgia had the same voc range cuz Mariah had B7 on studio (she even had an F#8 in her dolphin vid in 2019) Mariah still the queen of ranges after all F2 - Bb5 - B7 - F#8 live.

Actually, the vocal range of Georgia Brown (#1) is 8 octaves, she can hit a G10, which gave her the record of highest note ever done live in 2004

Although she does hold the record for a G10, the human ears CANNOT hear a G10. there is no way one could have heard the note live, however she still do quite the impressive note.
