As Indian music lover in the United States, I appreciate you very much for explaining the learning process in English. There are millions of Indian music lovers around the world who don't understand the Hindi language but would love to learn in English. Thank you so much for being considerate for the rest of the world.

+Amy Dubois This is a feature that MOST but NOT ALL harmoniums have. This is called a coupler. Some harmoniums are coupled down (like mine) to the lower octave and others coupled to the higher octave. Make sure the coupler knob is engaged if there is one on your harmonium. However, I am now planning another set of videos which requires a lot of resources (monetary and otherwise). Thanks Guru Jee, This is very useful series. I have a doubt though. You press the last note with your little finger. Where as I read that the little finger is not used in simple scales. Many other teachers start with the index finger and use thumb to play 4th and 8th note. Please explain. Thanks

your lessons are comparatively good, but .. pinky ??? think again !!!
@harmoniumvocalinstruction9972
@harmoniumvocalinstruction9972 9 жыл бұрын
Thanks for viewing. The pinky is used for piano and keyboard so why not the harmonium? Do you prefer using the other four fingers alone and have the pinky sticking out like a stepchild? I suggest you don't keep a closed mind when viewing my lessons because they are different to those of other teachers. The use of all five fingers becomes especially useful when chords are played in later lessons. In more advanced lessons, when playing scales in more than one octave the fingering is modified so that the pinky is not used. Don't jump to conclusions before trying the method given. If you think my lessons are "comparatively good", it means you have been viewing or using other methods. My advice to you is find a teacher and trust his method. Don't be "shopping around" because it will surely ensure zero progress. Please view this comment constructively and you will progress.......Thanks Indarji
