DANG you move super quickly on new purchases and I'm happy to have brought this one to yr attention =D this review is great and now I kinda feel like i need one of these too hahaha

Hahah thanks for recommending it!! It was like an epiphanistic (not a word) solution to my problems and made too much sense to not buy (and there was a deal on reverb what can I say)

I like the "dirty" demo tune...I was running all my desk top equipment with a Bastle dude, which got the job done for sketching things out, but was always hesitant in firing up logic to loop and or record so my creativity was stymied. 1010 Blue box has blown me away and the new firmware has transport/punch in! (1010 seems to be very responsive to user suggestions/wishlist) and that reverb! looking forward to more ideas and content. Cheers

Thanks a ton! I’ve since packed it up in a box but plan to binge the manual sometime this week so I can get the most out of it when my new place is set up! Seems like there are a lot of opportunities for it to continue expanding w/ firmware updates.

Enjoying your channel. Any recs or reviews on monitors or speakers? Also would love a vid on any tips tricks you’ve learned on OP1.
@SlowHaste3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! I’ve got a few “op-1 tips” videos on the channel, but plan to make a more straightforward tutorial series at some point. I am also considering doing an overview of my general setup including phones/speakers, but for a quick recommendation, I’d check out the Sennheiser headphones I have linked in the description!

@@SlowHaste such a great little mixer!
@BoxLab243 жыл бұрын
Love mine gonna update it today. If you have a zoom h6 you can plug your microphone in that and use the 3.5 line out to get vocals recorded on it. Thats my work around for it atm at least

Hell yeah! I have the h4npro, but that is exactly what I was planning to do

I’m stoked to be able to set up my desk space and just plug & play whenever I want! Was hesitant about buying a huge 12-channel mixer, but this thing was the solution I needed.

what slim stereo cable suit the bluebox the most at the back ? some reference, name, brand ?

Nice and warm beat! Just one ultra basic question ! Do you use the phone output of your samples in order to use only one cable and one (stereo) input of the mixer ?
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Are you talking about the OP-1? That only has one output, and it is a stereo/headphone output - the inputs in the mixer are stereo as well (but can be split up into mono if desired). So the answer is yes, if I’m interpreting your question correctly :)
@JavierMartinez-rz4vc2 жыл бұрын
@@SlowHaste I was trying to say “samplers” (referring to op1 and the digitakt). I’m a drummer and I use an MPC one and a Roland Spd sx,. (Both have R L output),. Thanks for your answer !

I'm about to get myself a multitrack mixer/recorder for my synths and the bluebox ticks most of my boxes. Small size is a bonus but i have seen some reviews of the Tascam Model 12 - same price point - bigger but more readily accessible in terms of physical controls with 10 inputs instead of 12 bluebox ( 6 x stereo or 12 x mono using splitter cable ) and wondered if you have any advice to resolve the choice/purchasing dilemma please ?
@SlowHaste Жыл бұрын
Good question- sometimes you just have to make a decision and test one out to see if it works for you! You can always return it within the return window if you have any regrets

I have both of these synths. I’ve been looking at the blue box for awhile now. Can you record something, then play it back and record over it? Like in a daw for multiple takes? Thanks
@SlowHaste3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that you can “punch in” or do overdubs. It does do multiple “takes” where it will save files for each take you do.
@outdatedgear50363 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply. I just opened up the manual and it says you can. Not really sure how. Thanks for this demo. I’ll be getting it soon.

Nice video! I am also new to the blue box having bought one a few months ago. I have learned how to load stems/backing tracks etc via the SD card...what I’m wondering if you’ve discovered yet is when you are doing a DJ type set or within a live band environment .....can you have a set list of songs loaded up to go within the blue box? As in if I’m performing a set list of 10 songs & I have all my tracks/stems loaded up ....can I create a set list to play them back & if you know....how do I play them back without loading them one by one between songs...if that makes sense. I haven’t seen how to do that but that’s kind of why I got a blue box...to use as a ‘backing track player’ without a computer/tablet to sync with midi gear such as a Digitakt etc. I hope what I’m asking is clear. Thanks for the input if any! 😛👍🏼

Thanks for the comment! To be completely honest, as much as I love the thing, I’m really only using it for basic mixing applications/monitoring audio when I’m making videos. It’s been super useful in there regard but I haven’t gotten super deep with it yet and am not totally sure if it could do that! I’m inclined to say you would indeed have to load different projects, unless you just had longer audio files with all of the tracks for you different songs queued up within those files, if that makes sense.

I’ve seen some people complain about ground loop issues which has made me hesitant thus far to get one.
@SlowHaste3 жыл бұрын
Loopop mentioned that in his review as well, but only when powering another device with the bb, or if running computer audio through it plugged into the same outlet as other powered gear. I haven’t had the chance to try any other routing aside from op-1/Digitakt, but will definitely report back if I run into issues!

Pretty sure SonicState also mentioned this issue but I could be misremembering.
