very nice, will update immediately...I have one common question that I couldn't find the answer for...do I just unplug the BB to switch it off, or is there a way to shut down the system software wise? thank you anyway!

That is correct. Pull the USB power cable to power down.

I needed to read the forum instructions to fully understand about "powering on" and getting the update to happen. I held the buttons while plugging the BB in: Place the microSD card in your blackbox While powering up the unit, hold the BACK and INFO buttons. When you see text on-screen, you can let go. When the upgrade finishes, in about 15 seconds, the unit will restart with the new software.

Can you guys cover looping capabilities more? Can you sequence your loops on the fly? How much loop time? Can you change individual lengths of loops and have them play simultaneously? Thanks!

Check out the tutorial videos in the Blackbox playlist. You can sequence on the fly, resample and record on the fly, loop any audio audio file, and adjust the length, individually.

Hi Steve Thankyou for this video, I have just received my black box, and was putting off updating as I was not clear. Mine has shipped with 1.0.3 Can you confirm that I will only have to update the latest version of the update, or will I have to update sequentially .. 1.4... 1.5 etc to get all of the features in each update. Love the product so far and have just purchased Launchkey mini mk3 as control surface. I plugged it in yesterday and it worked in areas, but I noted on another video that one of the updates that you included Launchkey comparability/ template. Do I already have this with 1.0.3 or can I look forward to an improved template. I do not appear to have 16 pad screen in addition to keys or multi sampling etc. If you see this could you respond as I just busted my beat buddy in a failed sd card update and am now a bit more hesitant than I was before. Kind regards from uk.

S Andrews - apologies if this was answered directly. You only need to update (once) to the latest firmware version, i.e. no need to update to each version incrementally to get to the latest.

Sorry for the delayed response... Yes, you only need to upgrade with a single .BIN file. No need to go incrementally.

It doesn't work for me. I try and replace the firmware and the Blackbox states no firmware. have to resort to the older version and it boots up fine.

It is a good idea to format on *some* regular basis. We recommend SD Card Formatter. It is free from the SD Association.

- Am I correct in thinking that parameters can be controlled with midi cc's but midi sequence data doesn't record midi cc's ?

MIDI Sequences do not record CC data.

But I have a PC! OK I can probably sort it out, but i think its a bit lapse of you to think we all use apple products, because i can assure you in the UK most people use a PC and not a Mac.

This video focuses on Mac because the auto unpacking in Safari can be confusing. Windows users should have an easier time. We know there are more of them out there.
