I've made jewelry of all sorts for the last year and have learned a great deal from all your videos. I love that you explain the 'how to' make your items but you always include things to avoid, too. Like this video of making things from paint skins; even something as simple as showing how much clear "glue" to use and how to check any possible 'oozing' to be certain it gets wiped off. Also, I love the quiet calmness that you have in your videos, too. If I'm having a hectic day, I can go to any of your videos at the end of the day and become relaxed and calm just watching and listening. Thank You so very much for that. I do have a question for you, though. I understand the "skins" you're using are from other painting projects you've done. I don't have those but I do have loads of various scraps of fabric that are too small to use for anything else. Do you think that fabric would soak up so much of the clear "glue" that it wouldn't dry properly or it would look messy under the glass dome? Thanks so much for your reply. I truly appreciate your jewelry and can't wait to make some of these myself. By the way, my name is Deb, not Mr. Onyxpony. That would be my husband. :)
@TillyDouglas4 жыл бұрын
Hi Deb! 👋 thank you so much for your lovely comments, it has actually made my day reading this! 😃 As far as the using fabric, yes, you can certainly use fabric pieces, I use them a lot in my jewelry making, but first I give them a couple of coats of mod podge to seal them, let them dry between coats and also before you put them in the bezels... Then you can just continue in the same way as I did them with the paint skins.
@ilmcjc4 жыл бұрын
These are so beautiful.I was wondering do you have a video that shows how you made your the squares with the paint?I am fairly new to the painting aspect of art.I would love to try.Thank you for sharing your art and how to make it.
@TillyDouglas4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Stephanie! 💜 I haven't got a video specifically for that, but I have got quite a few videos where I do paint pours on tiles. Then I leave them to dry for about a week, and if I don't want to keep them as tiles, I just put them in a bucket of water for a couple of days and then the paint will peel straight off for the skins. 😀

Hi Tilly my fellow Brit loved this idea were your skins still on the canvas I have a few skins on the canvas still . And I have some of that glue which I didn’t know what to do with. Thanks for the idea Hope I win X
@TillyDouglas4 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda! 👋 No the skins wasn't on the canvas... I think if they are still on the canvas it could make them a bit thick to go into the jewelry settings. Glossy accents is amazing stuff, you can also use it like a resin on the top instead of a glass cabochon. Don't shake the bottle, because it will cause bubbles. 💜

I enjoyed your video thank you. However, I am at a complete loss when trying to find the jewellery tray blanks. Can you tell me where you buy your jewellery tray blanks and accessories? What metal is used-is it silver 925 or stainless steel, and do I need to buy medical stainless steel?

Enjoyed your video. Can you please explain how you create the skins? You mentioned tiles, but it looks like the skins are on paper. Thanks.
@TillyDouglas4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Teresa! I have lots of videos where I do paint designs on tiles, then I let them dry for a week or so and put them in a bucket of water, then I cut around the sedge of the paint on the tile and it peels straight off... They are not on paper... I mix the paints with PVA or Mod Podge, and that gives them like a vinyl, so you can easily cut them.
@ReikiMuse_Sara4 жыл бұрын
Those are so cute, I love them!! I don’t have any skins, but I’m going to start making some!! Would card stock work, or do you recommend tile?
@TillyDouglas4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Sara! I don't think card stock would work very well because it might not peel off very easily. I have a chopping board that I tape thick polythene to and do pours on that.... It peels off beautifully. 💜
