Wow! You just answered a bit question I have been looking for. A lot of paint pour artists say save your paint skins and sometimes they would show the paint skins on a piece of paper, but they wouldn't say what the paper was. Now I have my answer. Freezer paper! One question though. Could wax paper work too? As for making jewelry, that I have been doing for a few months using UV resin, but your tutorial on cabochons and how to use those, that was fantastic how you explained each step and showed the finished product. Thank you for sharing all of this with the KZbin viewers. I personally have learned a lot.

@AnnaBlountArt2 жыл бұрын
I bet it would! Gorilla Glue recommends clamping for 2 hours, so if you follow that it makes the first step slightly more complicated. On the other hand, once you had several on a paint skin, you could probably just set a heavy book down on all of them.

Great video, looks like I could be going down another crafty rabbit hole...lol I had a question, why shouldn't you use paint mixed with silicone? I am new to all this and did buy silicone for another project so curious as why this mix shouldn't be used for jewelry. Thanks
@AnnaBlountArt11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I worry that the silicone oil wouldn’t bond well with the glue, and would cause the paint skin to separate from the cabochon (even a partial separation will make it look strange). I suppose if you wanted to clean your skins with soapy water on both sides, they might be usable though…

Thank you! I think price depends a lot on where you are selling them, as well as the quality of your materials, etc. I live in West Virginia which is not a wealthy state, so my jewelry goes for the $10-15 per piece range. But probably in other areas it could be higher.

Hello! I've dabbled with making jewelry with my paint skins, and it's going well. But some of the pieces have a strange shiny part under the cabochon. It looks like either the dried glue, or air bubbles that didn't pop....is there a way to avoid that from happening? After watching the video, I realize I haven't been as patient as you recommended, and have glued it all together the same sitting. I'll try letting the diamond glaze sit on the paint for a while before cutting them out. Do you think that will help? Thank you so much!!
@AnnaBlountArt Жыл бұрын
Yes, waiting 24 hours may help. I’ve had some shiny patches develop occasionally, usually if the diamond glaze didn’t get applied well. It doesn’t happen to me a lot so it’s hard to figure it out scientifically…
