This looks to me to be a bank owned property. Those tend to sit for a while until things get settled eventually. I almost bought a house that was vacant and unlocked for four years, but it needed a TON of work and my wife was eight months pregnant. This house reminds me of that. If the kid weren't on the way, we would have gone for it.

At 1:28 we can see where a notch has been cut out of the lower left-hand corner of a door. Maybe for a cat to get through? ---Great woodwork in the house. I was thinking the interior was Craftsman style but the staircase (wow!) makes me think of something from the Victorian era.---Quite a place but with the mix or overgrown and accessibility and the expensive appliances still there and yet no evidence of squatters or vandals a little "off" or unsettling. I'm glad you two didn't stay very long.

I would so love to get my hands on this house. Love all the wood work and built in cabinetry. I even dig the old rads. This place is so up my alley. I would make the attic my master bedroom, after insulating it and putting up some walls. I would actually leave the shuffle board on the floor and add an ensuite bathroom. The room it leads down to would be my music room. Notice the lock on that room? I wonder what that cut out on that door in the kitchen was for? Maybe a kitty? Birdies head is probably ended up in a kitties belly. At end of vid, you see a birds nest behind Rick's head, on the door frame. Wonder if that birdie made it? Also makes me believe house has sat empty for a bit. Cheers guys!

Hello Rick & Bekah! Thank you for all your hard work, time, and effort, that you put into making these magical videos! I absolutly love watching them, and visually exploring with you both! I noticed in this video, at 0:56, in the window just above the left side of the porch, the curtain looks to be quickly moving from left to right. A breeze would have blown it back and forth, not frantically swing it left to right. Someone in there?

Someone is definitely estate sitting. The door could have been opened by a homeless wanderer looking for shelter or something. This house sort of looks like Phyllis Stoke's house in South Carolina (she's here on KZbin) - very similar construction, what with the wood framed doors and stairway. I think her house is 100 years old. Any ideas how old this house is?

What a nice country home. Loved the beautiful woodwork and the stairs. Looks just perfect for a large family. I was surprised to see it was so rundown on the outside with it being so nice inside. When that door screeched I would of ran for my life. That would of scared me bad. Have u ever gone into an abandoned house and ran into a squatter? Or have u ever fallen thru a rotted floor? What a treat a home that has not been vandalized and no graffiti. I love exploring with you two. Becca’s calmness and Rick’s excitement. You two balance each other well. 🥰 The woodwork and door hardware are beautiful. Question … Did you see the curtain on the left in your front view at the beginning moving? Or was it an optical illusion from light. Yes, I think shuffleboard also. Such a clean attic! Rick, in your last picture … Is that a bird’s nest on the door frame over your right shoulder?

What a cool old house! I Loved the woodwork and fireplaces!! That attic was huge and could be finished into living space. It could be that when the door opened it let a little breeze into the house that caused a door to close. Doors in old houses are sometimes off kilter.

Nice find. This is the condition you find abandon houses in Europe, not here in the States. We have too many thugs with spray paint. Sad..
@crowleon61747 жыл бұрын
You'll be disappointed if you think that's only something that happens in the States. This house looked so nice because it likely hasn't been abandoned long if at all. Settled dust is a tell and there was virtually none there. Still very odd to leave so much behind like that. Perhaps death was the cause of abandonment?

WOW so cool, another great find and one being restored (yay) Obviously work in progress, Workers must be nearby and at the property regularly for the door to be unlocked. The yard appears to be kept for last otherwise they would have to keep maintaining it til the home is completed. Seems like they had Christmas before moving out. Fabulous Built In Hard Cases, Exquisite Oak Casings and Frames, Beautiful period fixtures. It appears original plumbing and electrical needs were upgraded. Find out who leases the property first! Don't buy foreclosed homes, never! Find out how much the bank charges if it is owned by a bank in the town. If too much and security is an issue, in that town, drop it. Have a home inspector check on how much work it needs to sell but don't sell if it is foreclosed!

Pennsylvania should have real estate database that would have a record of the house, and who owns it, assessments and taxes, if the address is known... I often use my state's ( Maryland ) state database to research any homes that I'm curious about... BTW, that is an amazing house in the fact that there was very little dirt, dust, and vandalism... I liked the words and quotes stencilled on the walls... That's different ! As a cat owner, I was also saddened over the dead cat... Someone killed it by decapitation...

Minister's house? There were two smaller sized pulpit's at the top of the stairs and Christian statements on wall in living room and a bedroom upstairs. House could have been foreclosed on and bank couldn't sell for it's value. And the bank ends up abandoning the property. Area prices might be a lot lower now. Beautiful house inside were their a lot of weeds in the yard? Great video and Rik you were freaking, lol. Thank you for the awesome upload!

Hi Rick and Bekah! I am the one who mentioned Massachusetts the other day, you asked where in MA. I live in North Brookfield, most of the ones in my town seem to be bank owned but if see many in the areas around my town..... There are also a East, a West and just Brookfield. I saw an abandoned and overgrown one on route 20 in Brimfield, I will be heading back that way on October 8th. I'll try to get a more pinpointed address for you if you'd like. It was in a overgrown field and set back a bit.. just be careful around the bigger cities... some neighborhoods can be a bit rough and if you don't know where it can get scary. id stick to small towns...
