You'll never regret staying in the live axle club, I have to admit I am a bit jealous of your 60 but mine will have to wait till after I get a HJ47 Troopy and turn it into a supercab for my daughter. Probably a bit late to point out that the 105's have a little sub plate for the top of the rear shocks- Two bolts either side of the shock body and the entire top mount drops out of the chassis and then you can rattle gun the top shock bolt off. Its only the 100's and 200's that toyota had a full brain fade moment and welded the plate into the chassis, dooming you to a life of turning a ratchet spanner one tooth at a time until you finally get the top bolt undone. Unless it seizes....

I’d love a 105, but not gettable in Europe LHD. I’ll have to make do with my old 80... good work, done all that and a bit more on the 80. 👍🏻🇷🇴🇬🇧
@phalanx38034 жыл бұрын
well the 105 is more or less an mix of an 80 frame with a 100 body. the 105 was fleet vehicle all solid axle to make it off road but with some of the comfit of the 100 body. obviously not many company's in Europe need a fleet of off road vehicles but here in Australia we do. if you had of bean here Around 2008-10 the 105's where being sold by many of the fleet owners as Toyota stopped making a dedicate fleet vehicle like the 105 and fleet owners started going back to the back to the 79. sadly the 105's that weren't sold got scraped.

Those Toyota OEM steel wheels aren't made anymore afaict. The only 5 hole steels that Toyota makes now are split wheel for the 70 Series. So don't let go of them even if you end up changing wheels/tires down the road. Nice 105! Edit: I think you can get 1-piece 5-bolt Toyota OEM steel wheels in OZ (70 Series) but not in most other markets.

Turbo is about $1100, Manifold $550, intercooler $680. Some gaskets, exhaust pipe, clamps hoses about $250. Contact Marc at Mackay 4x4 for quotes on Dobinson lifts it will depend on spring rates, types of shocks, if you need and arms and rods or not

Why put the intercooler on top of a hot engine? Never understood that.
@DanieSimpson5 жыл бұрын
If you were chasing big power you would take the extra effort and go front mount. This is still an old slow diesel. A top mount is a simple mod that can installed and still offer massive benefits without running heaps of piping and trying to front mount it. The thermo fan ensures even stationary it can pull in fresh air. Any heat sink that it suffers is negated by the added condensed air it provides
