This CTA gives me a lot of insight. Watching the trip of Solo & the Mkurugenzi family to Ol Kekun, listening to the plan of the estate, doing the maths of the whole Portfolio, and thinking of how I can't afford that right now, this and the last episode endorse my thinking and planning. the main problem with the kenyan economy is that land, the main factor of production, is treated like a commodity. it is subjected to speculation that causes the PRICE (NOT VALUE) to rise continually. this makes the price of EVERYTHING IN THE ECONOMY to rise and hurts all parts of the economy. think of how fuel prices affect everything, land is a 100 times more potent! land trade also causes land to be abused (deforestation), underused (hoarded for speculation), polluted (industrial farming), grabbed, fought over (perpetual land clashes) etc as humans pursue money and neglect the needs of each other as well as the needs of other species. (note that only humans pay to live on land. no other species uses money or needs to pay to live on land.) how exactly can christians, who are charged with taking care of ALL SPECIES, be at the forefront of converting land into a commodity? how can they celebrate when they make money as the land PRICES rises and hurt all species? how can they be at the forefront of equating the VALUE of land to its monetary PRICE? how can they be the biggest opposers of LAND NATIONALISATION? LEVITICUS 25 talks about how land was owned in Israel, how it was to be traded, how the price was to be determined, how other species were to be allowed access and HOW IT ALL BELONGED TO GOD (verse 23) all churches have ignored this, especially the nairobi chapel ones. they have flatly refused to have a candid conversation on this and on the benefits that would arise from LAND NATIONALISATION. that;s because even the pastors are deep in the toxic land trade business. and that is among the many reasons why some of us are extremely sceptic about church, because it is indistinguishable from any other institution that profits from and spreads RAW CAPITALISM

The interviewer's attitude is irritating and part of the reason why unemployment is a problem in Kenya. Wangwe was a bodaboda business owner and yet more than once the interviewer equates that to joblessness. Is that what you think of entrepreneurship? Besides, I am sure he was not just sitting down waiting for his phone to ping. He had to supervise them, keep records of oil changes, insurance, contracts, problem solve etc. He also became a father and real fathers parent. It takes time and energy too.
