Nice lookin bike! I have a 1970 JC Penny El Tigre, has a 5 hp Briggs flathead, has an ARC billet flywheel (30° advanced timing + 8° more with an offset key) billet rod, has the eye brows shaved off, a Raptor carb (basically a chokless pulsajet) and a straight pipe. It's obnoxious, and fast!

When I bought mine I bypassed the governor system, I added mobil1 10w30 and 93 octane gas and I ran at full throttle to its full potential down the road. These bike are broken in at the factory. as you know the bike didn’t smell like it’s burning oil mine didn’t too. so the piston rings are doing there job. The metal in the oil aren’t big to cause bearing damage. when you check the dip stick for metal slivers of shining particles you’re good until it really need an oil change. Most of the time the shaving will get more uniform and get smaller as you do the oil changes. Just wanted to tell you know

Nice👍 But in that to each his or her own, I don't necessarily completely trust the tolerances of these engines. I'm sure they're fine and they will run great. However I myself just feel it necessary to break in the motor. It may be old school But as far as I'm aware, I do not believe factories do any type of break-in. I'm sure it's just an assembly, possibly an initial start, but that's all unknown as far as 93 octane. Unless you're running high compression, I have never seen any performance benefits. 93 octane will allow you to run the engine hotter without detonation, but these small engines are typically designed for 87, maybe 89 fuel.

The only other thing that I would suggest is to use some 50:1 fuel for the first run. Then never again. I just like to lube the upper end for first run.

@@paytondevinney505 oil is oil but like I said for longevity of the bearings it is best to use conventional oil for proper break in. We're also not really talking about something that's high performance so I think you have less to worry about but in my video I wanted to show what was proper and what was not That's it No big deal All good 👍💯

Typical break in for a small engine is between 3 to 10 hours depending on use the point is to not over rev meaning twisting of full throttle at a high rate of speed.

I have that same mini bike and it didn’t tell me it didn’t have oil CPU’s when I opened it the oil cap was well oily so I rod it two mile with no oil the it started to fun up on me then I went back and a buddy to me the had no oil ,but it still runs good but the amount of oil you put in was in sane for me cause I only put in that tiny bottle it comes with and squirt it in so idk😅

@@ryvonbelcher5132 You need three things for these things to run fuel, air and spark. If your fuel is good meaning fresh, you need to make sure it's getting to the carburetor spark is very easy to check. Pop off the plug wire. Take out the spark plug and then ground it at the engine with the plug in the wire have somebody give it a couple pulls. See if you have spark air mostly. They always get air no matter what. You might need more than three poles to get it started if you do not have the choke on
