thanks for all your efforts learned alot from you -- i am 68 yrs male old - with bad knees and a bad back-been studying moy's 108 as you teach it with Windsor Ontario group ---good teachers for the most part ---i go three/four times a week 1.5 hour lessons-- for about 11 months now-- as i go along finding it harder and harder to improve when i learned the first 17 moves i thought i had a handle on it but each week each lesson i am shown how little i know and what mistakes and bad form i have ---it is getting very dishearting to continue i seem to be going backward not forwards and i still cannot do a full set without help from the teachers or superior students even the rudimentary stick style--- so much to remember in each move----really not asking for help just a comment that all is not a bed of roses in the tai chi world some of us have a really hard time trying to keep up--again i watch your videos over and over and love them your teaching style is very good

Hi Doker, To tell the truth, what you are saying is pretty normal for most people. I tell students not to judge or criticize themselves for at least the first year. Even after the first year, go easy on yourself because it takes time. You are doing the best thing possible....lots of practice! 3 to 4 times a week is great and the more you can practice at home outside of class the quicker you start to remember the sequence and the details. Eventually you get to the point of not having to think so much as you go through the moves but it takes time and lots of practice. We all make mistakes(sometimes referred to as learning) and that's all part of the process. There is no hurry to learn it. Take your time and focus on understanding how it is working your body and how to improve and strengthen your knees and back. The foundations exercises are the key and once you have learned the first 17 moves you have all the basics needed for the rest of the set. Everything else is just practice and patience. Keep at it and if you any questions, just ask! Cheers
