So, did the hurricane that was depicted hit Stoolbend, go up to Quahog and then back to Langley Falls, or was it at different times. Tell you what though, the Family Guy episode during that block was great in terms of what Meg did (not putting spoilers here for people who haven't seen the episode). Also, Irene did affect Rhode Island, so there is some truth to the programming block, but seeming how it was supposed to play out in May 2011, I think it was just a coincidence.

South park though I actually started watching in 1998 when I was about 6 or 7. Seth MacFarlane is getting a lot of backlash from this show because he allegedly didn't cast Cree Summer for the role of Meg Griffin. Guys, fact check before you start getting super angry over this (and this channel should really provide sources as well...). In later interviews, she has stated that she also knew this wasn't her role, and she didn't feel right about it. Additionally, there has been no record whatsoever that MacFarlene was uncomfortable with a black woman playing the role of a white woman. Verify everything you hear, including this.
