most people cant even tell the difference between the two, I strongly believe that content creators (especially beginners) should focus on quality content instead of specs

Yes I agree I think big time creators are trying to push that we need a 6k or 8k camera to do our KZbin videos and 1080 it still a great quality and awesome to edit with. Nice video bro thanks a lot

Awesome video man. I recently tried editing 4k footage and it was a pain in the butt. I've been trying to decide whether I should make 1080 content or 4K content. Being new to content creation I feel like the hassle of 4k is offputting for newbies and hence a big barrier to creating and releasing engaging content. I would rather stick to 1080.
@kienobimedia2 жыл бұрын
100% bro i would stick with 1080 for a while. Way more efficient and you will have a better time working on it

I'm like to shoot 4k but only for cropping. Or maybe stabilization. Or I could track a 1080p frame across the 4k source for a fake slider type shot. 1080p is still sufficient these days. Saves me money from buying telephoto lenses too. 1 Sigma 18-35 does everything for me.

Agree! You know it! Using 4k for fake slider shot is a great tip!

I think you missed something. There are programs out there that will upscale 1080 to 4K that I cannot tell the difference with 4K monitors. It's amazing what these programs do to the quality. It's simply a game changer. Yes there is a learning curve however, once you pick up on it, your 1080 will rock. On the other-hand, if you are putting together a video for KZbin, most people are on their phones, iPads, etc. This is a concern to Canon and the other hardware camera makers because it negates the need to go out and spend thousands of dollars to get that great quality. I happen to be a guy who shoots as a hobby. I am not going to go out and spend $4,000 or more for equipment. Matter of fact, I have a Canon 70D and it does a great job for my needs. So either way, I get whichever quality either 1080 or 4K. Because of file size, I will be sticking to 1080 for the foreseeable future. Did I mention that I also get great photos from my camera as well? Having said all of this, is there a camera that I should think about in the near future?

@karikaru Жыл бұрын
Only 11% of viewers are watching 4k. Unless you're a major KZbin channel with hundreds of thousands of views a video, you'd probably see 0 impact on your numbers, and could probably even detrimentally affect your viewership if your 4k workflow is slowing your production time. If you're worried about it, you can always upscale to 4k in export and probably fool a few of that 11%

Hey no worries. From most of the messages I have received people told me they can tell the differences between 4k and 1080 on a 4k monitor. However it’s still acceptable to shoot on 1080 (depending on what you’re trying to make)

I was watching on 1080p 27" monitor and could tell that the left one was 1080p. But yeah I did a double take on a few pieces of the footage. I'm upgrading soon to a 34" 3440x1440@144hz ultrawide though!!! I've been on dual 1080p@60hz for like 6 years with this PC and 1280x800@60hz on a laptop years before that
@kienobimedia2 жыл бұрын
Really that’s awesome. Once you get the update you probably can tell the differences in all of them! Have you tried on the phone yet I think it’s the hardest one!

@@kienobimedia I don't watch videos on my phone much so I didn't, but I doubt I could see the difference on a phone unless i eyed it closely for a minute or 2 in darkness. I do agree with your video that most people are going to be happy with 1080p. I _can_ tell the difference but it's so minor that it didn't bother me at all. (Although, like you said it will be more pronounced with a better monitor, the one I'm going for is still not 4k though, which is fine for me because it's a bunch of cool unique things I've never tried before. It's also a VA panel so not as premium as a IPS but I've never experienced the deep blacks from the contrast before so that will be super neat! If I don't like it I can return it for free apparently so I'm not too worried. (Plus, I can check out 4k down the line when I move to another monitor!) Ultrawide on the other hand, definitely would be nice to see it be more mainstream, at least 21:9. I think it has slowly edged more toward that because the 21:9 monitors have gotten cheaper for good specs even. I heard most movies are shot in that aspect ratio so I was surprised to read that a lot of streaming services only offer 16:9.

KZbin is acutally MArking videos as 4k or 360 etc. so if a viewer sees 1080 under the new video he would automatically assume its older or worse than the 4k. Also nowadays we are at 8k.... 4k is the new 1080 lol. Besides all that the only thing that matters is creating!
