Great video , word of advice , if you suspect any snow coming , it would pay to take a roll of yarn of 100 percent cotton , cut little pieces and every 100 yards or so , tie some off to branches. If you get snow like that , you are able to come back out the way you went in and you can leave it there for others or for repeat trips.

Beautiful cinematography as usual, and jealous of the epic scenery around you. I know you guys already do this, but for those reading the comments, one thing I learned in boating was to always leave a breadcrumb line with the chart plotter because we often returned in the dark. Most boats have no lights that can help you see ahead or points of reference, so returning on the same line saved us many times. Even if I know the area, I do the same whenever I go off-road. With the off-road apps, they can accurately mark the trails within a few meters.
@StarGateSG7 Жыл бұрын
Based on the slide at 8:58, can I assume that is Chehalis Lake? As a suggestion, your jeeps are LIGHT ENOUGH that you could put inflatable PONTOONS onto them with a collapsible floor rig of aluminum pipes for support which you can drive right onto at some beach and then put an EV outboard motor to drive you via the lake waterway to the FAR NORTHERN parts of the valley which have roads that go another 40 km into the ice-field valleys. You can use the same technique to goto the top of Stave Lake and drive ANOTHER 100 KM on the abandoned logging roads past the old airstrip (i.e. you can bypass the washed out sections using this floating pontoon system) you can even get to Skookumchuck and Lillooet Lake if you're willing to get lots of tree stripes down the sides of the vehicles! AND .... if you want to do the TWO MOST ULTIMATE OFF-ROAD TRIPS in B.C., do the logging roads from the TOP of Bute Inlet up to the valleys in-between White Mantle Mountain and Merlon Mountain. The terrain is almost terrifying yet logging was a mainstay there back in the 1970's so there are still drivable roads up there! You start at Homathko Camp at GPS: 50.953641, -124.868331 and goes to the end of the roads at 51.242283, -125.230524 And the OTHER UTTERLY WILD OFF-ROAD TRIP is from the top of Knight Inlet at 51.069050, -125.556706 to the high valley Waddington-A area at 51.413002, -125.679097 On BOTH TRIPS you can actually hire a 40 foot front-loading landing craft to take you and your Jeeps to the beachheads of both inlets and drive the logging roads from there. ENSURE you have VHF radios and a Satellite phone with extra power charging packs! This is a multiday trip and goes through really big terrain AND also be prepared for big game (i.e. bears and cougar!) and probably Sasquatches and Dogmen too! :-) :-) Remember to download close-up Satellite view maps to take with you so you can figure out where you are. V

Wow! I never knew this could become a kinda sport. Fifty years ago, when I was in Alberta, I often enjoyed taking a run into Johnson's canyon or the foothills, to see how far I could get in my little sedan. A guy I worked with had a jeep truck (like an army vehicle), 4 wheel drive and he would go winter camping -45 below F- . I loved the feeling, the smell, the sense of Being Alive that winter in the mountains gave me. Interested to see more of your journeys and descriptions of your rigs.

The pure irony of all that snow is that it's so peaceful and quiet out there in the back country winter roads, you can actually say to yourself WHO CARES if I am stranded for a few days! One day, I'd like to take a fully-supplied and fully overlanded/boondocking-modded Jeep Gladiator Rubicon on 37's out to Central-coast and Northwestern British Columbia in the middle of winter and purposefully stay for THREE MONTHS in the snowy back country to do nothing but winter camping, ice fishing, snowshowing and EV-snowmobile-sledding! Living off of freeze-dried and MRE food and caught fish, with just my solar charging units, propane heater tanks and firewood to survive. I will be enjoying the snowfall and peace of nature at it's winter best! Even a massive blizzard has its inherent beauty to enjoy! I wouldn't come back to civilization until the spring! I would be TRULY and FULLY off-grid! V
