Craftsmanship, musicianship, lyricism, feel, emotion, subtlety, genius... All in danger of extiction in today's musical arena. The old, proper touring bands are dying out and the new ones want stupid money for you to see them live. One of my favourite "new" bands - Pixies want over a hundred quid to see them live in Cardiff! 10cc on upcoming tour 40ish quid. I know who I'll be watching.

Yes. I don't know the top 20 songs at any time and they are mostly rubbish (exceptions for sure but not many). Churned out, commercial repetitive. A lot of modern music sound like like they came out of a factory - which they have. Good songer/songwriters is an exception - often. Been that way for ages. I mean it was, and is, production made - like the Spice Girls etc. and after. Boy Bands - same.

@whitworthfields3 жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew, Graham has mentioned in some interviews that during the recording process, Kevin, Lol, Eric And Graham, all sang the lead vocals in turn...then they would all listen to the playback and decide between them as to what voice sounded right for that particular song ( to them ) and that was the voice used in the final mix. So at some point during the 4 yrs the original band were together, Graham has had a go at singing lead on most tracks. They all had very distinctive voices and I think the right choices were made but I would to hear those unused vocal versions. Keep Rocking!

10cc were Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Lol Creme And Kevin Godley. That WAS 10cc. I'm sorry but this isn't them. When Jeff Lynne left ELO. The band carried on as ELO pt II. This is what this band, post 1976, should have been titled, 10cc Pt.II. Granted these are really good, but 10cc will always be the original line-up for me.

I thought it was pretty good going for a live performance of a song Graham Gouldman first performed 40 years ago. They were tight, together, in tune, and the production wasn't bad. Exactly where did you think it went wrong ? You can't magic up musicians who retired donkeys years ago either, so the 2.5cc comment is mean minded and unfair on the ones who do turn up...and play pretty well.
