This band had absolutely everything: songwriting talent from all members, top class musicianship, 4 great voices and great wit and humour. There's noone comes near them today, that's for sure! Sheet Music is just one of those brilliant, timeless albums that you play over and over again, even though I bought it 37 years ago!

I liked their music growing up; I now live in NY and am rediscovering them through KZbin. How come I never noticed before, in addition to all the attributes you correctly mention above, they were all friggin gorgeous!!

the 70s were brilliant. So much great music in any kind of genre. I just keep finding great things from that time. Yeah, I've known 10CC for many years but never really thought about, how great this song is.

saw a brilliant documentary about 10cc last year late one night, interviews with all four band members plus lots of clips of their hits etc.. who knew that a random office girl at the recording studio did the whispering " Big boys don't cry" bit on " I'm Not in Love".

The line up Graham has now is totally red hot...I saw them at Falkirk last week and the songs were spot on....didn't think I would like them as much but the music sounds better than ever and they have one of the finest rock guitarists in Britain. The singing is amazing and shows up how much Graham originally contributed. Eric and Lol became not interested and their latter performances showed that. Last week 50,000 fans turning up for that fab open air live show in Falkirk...what a night.

This was one very good band, but unforunately for them they were 10 years ahead of their time. Had they come out in the 80's instead of the 70's they would have been as big or bigger than Squeeze. They had it all. Four capable vocalists who could also write and cover their instruments as well. The topper though, was their command of sarcasm and wit, which was not to be seen again until the emergence of XTC in the 80's ...

At the time I didn't realise how good 10cc were/are. I didn't appreciate musical satire. It was too radical for my teenage brain. This song and Oh Effendi are my favourites and really relevant in the past few years, with the financial crash[es] and terrorism.

Are the crowd dead?
@garynicholls14489 жыл бұрын
+Paul Featherstone No. The crowd probably just didn't get it. I know I didn't at the time. To the crowd it was just a quirky tune with too many key changes to dance to whereas it was actually musical satire, up there with Zappa [but actually better than Zappa]. Radical. Still is. Where is the 21stC equivalent?
