Agreed. They’ve basically bumped first class long haul to business class long haul. And business class long haul is now premium economy. We just flew premium economy to Japan on Delta and it was basically what my parents would fly when they did business class with Cathay Pacific in the early 2000’s.

Just like with everything nowadays, shrinkflation. We, the consumer, pay more, get less while company executives get bonuses. I don't fly anymore, let them all rot.
@bend3867 ай бұрын
@@mitchdenner9743 how is that relevant to shrinkflation? If anything business class products are better than what they used to be 20 years ago and I’d say with the increased popularity of credit card and frequent flyer points etc they are more accessible to mainstream consumers than they were 20 years ago. Also not sure how business executives get their bonuses are relevant to airfares. I guess you are trying to make the point that executives are overpaid and get too much perks but I can rest assured you business travel is no perk. Having done a few trips where I worked in the offices day of departure, then head to the airport to fly a red eye to an international location in business class, then straight into meetings/businesses once you arrive is not fun and certainly not possible if you got stuck in economy not being able to get any reasonable rest. Companies pay extra to fly people in business not because it’s fun it’s because they want to maximize employee working time on the ground.

Hey Jeb, I agree that the CX First lounge is the best at T3 although the view isn't great. Most of it is obscured by aerobridges...etc. I see you had to use a lot of zoom in your plane spotting footage? Qantas are opening up a dedicated first class lounge there later this year (or 2024) which is great news as their shared J/F lounge is often crowded. I'd argue that the Qantas First lounge in Sydney probably has the best view in the world. The apron and many gates are directly below it and aircraft rotate or land on the main runway right in front of it.

Which is only $10,000.00 more than the iffy 1st class the couple on the show paid to traveled. I hope it was a mistake and it was $15,000.00 one way for both and not each. This scrimping on service is one of the easiest ways to save money when nobody is paying for it. It's just my opinion, but this whole thing started with deregulation. Quick checkin, faster boarding, access to lounges/ flagship dining, better/bigger seats, more privacy, amenities kits and fine dining in the air. Depends on when the flight was purchased as well. First class start from mid 5k and go up to 25k depending on demand. Everything is included within that price and not only the flight itself. Also anything extra that is offered high up in the air should be appreciated. It is also a market opportunity for an airline to make money. If you create only couple of hundred difference between first and economy, everyone will want the first class. Also for people who can travel first class for them 15k is peanuts.

What a coincidence .... I am booking a flight from DFW -> LHR today. I was considering Flagship First but I decided on Flagship Business Plus because I like the privacy in Business compared to First. Also, with this ticket, you have access to Flagship First Dining Lounge at DFW and the Cathay First Class Lounge at LHR.

My fav place to spot planes is probably Newark because of United’s beautiful livery

My favorite place to spot is my hometown airport BWI. There is a great spotting park at the end of 33L that provides great photos. Heathrow is my dream to spot at!
