This is a steep and rocky road, best suited to high clearance 4X4 vehicles. Much of Coyote Flat is almost 10,000 feet in elevation. Views of Palisade Glacier at the South end of the Flat. Then 17 miles drive going to funnel lake.

3 years later, I still marvel at how you got the Rav4 through the Rock Garden, you are a stud. Last time I was there, there were a number of bears that came in every night, but it is an amazing place and an amazing journey.

Subscribed, I have massive respect for you taking your Rav4 on this trail. I took my Jeep JLU Rubicon on this trail and I thought it was pretty sketchy and I hit my belly a couple times at the rock gardens. An experienced driver and picking good lines really takes you far when going off-road.

Nice vid!! So your Rav4 doesn’t have the knob (I was asking in your other video) I thought it had torque vectoring before when you said it has the knob. Was curious since I also want to trail my Rav4 and was wondering if a regular XLE with AWD can do it. I really like your wheel set up. Great vids! 👍

For my understanding all trim awd model is standard with torque vectoring and well mine is xle awd but I got mud tire on it and if you're new to trailing i won't recommend this place you'll hit you're oil pan or bumper and I don't want you to get stuck up there. There's alot of place that you can off road I have some video that you can trail maybe you might want to go there?

@@WhatzsProduction You have awesome vids. I like watching them. Very informative also. The only Rav4 with torque vectoring are the Adventure and Limited models. They have a knob that you use to switch terrain modes instead of the push button. I'm actually really impressed more seeing that your Rav4 is very capable even with just the tires as the first mod. Eventually I want to also lift my Rav4 using RC 2.5 lift kit. I just need to study it more before I make the decision.

Hey Jeff, good video. This is a rough trail that’s rated as moderate/difficult for 4wd vehicles. Outdoors magazine even says that the coyote flats is too much for a stock Jeep Cherokee trailhawk with a 56:1 crawl ratio and a rear locking differential. I noticed that you skipped over the toughest part of the trail, the “rock garden”. How was it getting through? How did you accomplish it?

I'm not sure if this is the rock garden but there is some parts of the trail like half a mile long has full of rocks on it before I reach the funnel lake. What i did is I filled rocks on some spot that might hit under the car it take me some times until I got some clearance on the rock that im trying to pass but pretty much rav4 did well crawling on it

Whatzs Production thanks for the reply. You are a determined individual. I have a video about this trail, and it never occurred to me to stack rocks. I definitely would not recommend anyone on a trail that would need to do that. Keep up the good work, I’m a fan. Looking forward to more transparency in the future 👍

Yes 2.5 inch one it has a better price range than the LP lift kit and I heard that it's not that bad of a kit
