Good vid man! Congrats on the second one, now it's just the wisting game eh. I'm leaving this day next week for Turkey but after you mentioned the 0.4mm gap to be able to plant the follicle is super worrying for me now that you mention it. Dreading I arrive n they say they cant perform it. I also want all my front, mid and crown done also but I'm also dreading they say I've to come again. Should I just do the two or be insistent on trying to get it all done. They are able to perform beard to hair also so I'm thinking those additional grafts with a strong donor area will suffice 🤷👌 congrats again.

Thanks man! And congrats to going to get yours done too! Don't be nervous! Be excited that you're finally taking the step to get this done! As for doing everything, I'd suggest wait to see what the doctor says. Like for me, 6000 grafts for my first sitting was a massive amount, so it really depends on your situation. If u really don't want to come back for a second, u could ask to get the grafts spread out evenly, but again, just voice it out to the doctor when you go and see what he says.

hey Amit. love the videos! i've just been to vera two days ago! may i ask if you take minoxidil because the clinic were telling me not to take it but i've been using it before transplant and i'm seeing so many people saying they use it on the donor and transplanted area. thanks

@@brianlawlor4221 Do not do the entire scalp in one session. 1) If you are doing your entire scalp, you’re going to use your entire donor supply. If you use your entire supply in one shot, and you happen to have a bad transplant, you’re shit out of luck as far as repairing it is concerned. 2) Your scalp can only withstand so much trauma. The more hairs you harvest in one sitting, the more trauma you’re doing to your donor supply. You run the risk of a tired technician over harvesting an area of your donor and shock loss if you do it all in one surgery. 3) Technicians are human-they get tired. The bigger the surgery, the longer it takes. The longer the surgery takes, the more tired the technicians become. The more tired the technicians become, the more mistakes they make. 4) You really shouldn’t be going to Vera Clinic if you need that many grafts. As far as I understand, they only do FUE and you should be doing FUT if your hair loss is that advanced. FUT gives significantly more grafts over the total life of the donor area than FUT and the rates of transection (graft loss) is much lower with FUT than FUE.

@@tomcotter4299 Appreciate the lengthy message man. Ok so I'm not going to Vera, I'm actually not even going to Istanbul. My family have a contact within the family who has a surgery in Alanya and we're going to a trusted family friend if that makes sense. He doest HTs everyday for last 8 years so I'm happy with that length of experience, theirs more but sleepy n can't think rn. So my whole top of my head has hair, BUT it's all diffuse thinning.. but the hair loss has stabilised due to me taking Finasteride - which I will continue to take when necessary post surgery. What exactly will happen to all my native hairs? If I regenerated my native hair +HT aaaand I can take grafts from my underside of my chin/beard, albeit them only being single strand grafts but they can act as fillers. So my donor area won't just be my sides and back. You might still say "doesn't matter, you still will probably be best with two". Maybe you're right but I'm hopeful😐

Dude your videos are so helpful. Shocking that so many men get hair transplants and yet you’re the first one to give us a detailed run down on pre and post transplant steps. Keep up the great work man. One question that I have is I’m at the 2 week mark but my head is still itchy and I have flakey dandruff like stuff on my head. Do you have the same and if so how do I remove it and how long does it take for the itching to go away?

thats completely normal! I too am going through that phase haha. But it'll eventually subside once your hair starts growing in, but for the mean time, it'll be around for a while! Just keep shampooing everyday and that should help with the flakiness

Ketoconazol shampoo will help you for sure! But it depends also your scalp if it's sensible or not! Ketoconazol shampoo is to be used 2 days a week I think

Youre so lucky getting 10k grafts in total. I've had two procedures; first one 4000 grafts. Secone one; only 1,500 grafts from mid scalp; due to safety from a scar from first transplant.

depends on where you go and how they approach it really. In turkey, they go for maximum extraction. The clinic i went to was pretty reputable so i knew what i was getting myself into!

Hey Amit, I had my first haircut on my donor area after my 2nd transplant a few weeks ago, being youngish (although fast approaching my 30’s!) I had a number 1 faded in. Up close, the scars are slightly visible to the trained eye. However, from a distance it is not really noticeable and especially to someone who doesn’t know what to look for. My barber knew straight away I had been but he was really encouraging and mentioned that his brother had also been to Turkey for one. We talked about potential future styles etc. that would make it less noticeable. It’s still early days but I’m extremely happy. I was also like you during the first transplant, not really knowing which questions to ask and pretty disappointed they left the crown, but they are the experts so I trusted them. I didn’t receive any of the fancy machines on the first or second time, which for me was slightly annoying, I didn’t think to ask either! You’re probably right in that the cameras helped in that regard. I also didn’t purchase any products this time but mostly because I bought a years supply last time and stopped using them after around 8 months, so I still have a lot in storage. I do believe the products help slightly as the clinic managed to get a few quadruple grafts vs last time they said I didn’t have any. All in all, we will see in a years time the full results or maybe longer as I think the crown takes a little longer. Goodluck in your recovery!

Surprised you did not experience shock loss the way I did. It took me awhile to rebound before I got into the growth phase.

Thanks for sharing such an informative video. I had similiar situation where they transplanted 3800 grafts on hiar line and top head but left the crown as it needs second session after an year. I am glad that my cost was excatly similar with some added perks like 6 Months Vitamin Supply, Foaming Shampoo, 6 months shampoo, Serum Oil for Donor Area, Serum oil for recepient area, PRP, Hair serum spray and hair drops. Question: I am at first week after hair transplant, my head is too numb and donor area is little pulpy with fluid, eventhough taking all the medications, drinking alot of water, 45 degree posture to sleep and not even going out in sun. Do you think its normal? Specially the transplanted area is too hard.

They say donor area regrowth is generally pretty quick. Mine as you can see from the video has already started coming back. But based off of my first transplant, it took about 1 and half months to at least be presentable enough haha

they couldve! they actually offered to. but i personally did not want that as i wasnt a fan of having needles on my face to extract the hairs. I'm literally about to board the plane back to the states from my HT from Vera. They different didn't use the machines and the night before I heard some people who got theirs done complain that their crown wasn't done. I reached out to them a year later when i wanted to get my second then then agreed to film me accoridngly. The doctor i had, i dont think he was the best per say, but he was just one of them that spoke english, which was useful to me and to my advantage

If you want fancy machines...go for asmed. They're arguably the most high tech with donor management. Surgeons might get great results but ain't no way people counting 100k hairs on your head with the type of machine you see in this video. They take a certain area and go with average based on hair thickness type calculation. Source: my bro is a surgeon.

yes! minoxidol helps promote hair growth, but if you do it, expect shedding at first, then over time say about 3-6 months youll start to hopefully see some growth!

I am not happy about the transplant at Vera Clinic after 9 months. They draw the frontline crooked and there are a lot of empty spaces between hair. It looked like they do everything in hurry and have not experienced people.

You are really lucky with your donor area. Iv done 1 hair transplant and they only managed to get 3800 grafts and thats including from my beard. Results were ok but guess i cant ask for much if my donor area is poor

I agree! I think having the right donor area is very important. I don't think my first transplant would've been successful had it not been for having good donor hair. It's always good to get a doctors consult before jumping straight into it

@@amitposthairfor clarity there is non androgen prone donor and non prone donor. The latter looks like got used up in your 1st HT, the former clearly used during this HT. This is why some clinics would of rejected you based on your age and hair loss. Hope it works long term for you

Hi Amit, last week I had my first FUE at a different clinic in Turkey. I had 3300 grafts. In all honesty with the discomfort and some pain in my recovery I'm not sure I would have wanted more grafts. Looking at the trauma in the donor area I don't think they could have taken more at one time either. It also took 8 hours with 2-3 people working. Ive had the front hairline, up to mid scalp and if I want the crown done I'll have to go back next year. Overall I'm not convinced the whole area from hairline to back of head can be grafetd in one session. You had more grafts than I but I'd say that's about the limit for FUE. Your hair looks amazing. I had two FUT sessions 20 years ago so that limited the donor area. All the best, Malc.

wow 2 FUT's 20 years ago and another FUE now! You legend! thats incredible, but yes the FUE is painful in its recovery, but it quickly goes by within a week. I guess give it time and see how well your hairline holds up. if you believe you need more, you can ask for it in the nexy visit if you decide to go back. That will buy me some time. The hairline I am so pleased with. I almost can't remember having a hairline. My growth over two weeks is amazing though we will have to see if I get shock loss. That sounds like in the minority of cases though

I'm 12 months post my 1st transplant and my crown isn't quite right. I don't know whether it's worth waiting 18 months before booking 2nd or if I'm just wasting time.

generally it does take 18 months to see a full result of the crown (im waiting for mine too), but if you feel after 12 months the results arent what you wouldve hoped for, it may be worth reaching out to your clinic and see what they advise before booking another session!

I wish I would have watched your video before I got mine done (at Vera). I was also too shy to speak up and just let them do their thing. They assured me that the areas they weren't going to touch were going to grow in through thicker naturally from the stem cell procedure I had so that was the reasoning behind not doing as much as I wanted. I guess time will tell, I'm home now on day 4, eagerly awaiting the scab removal. Hopefully I wasn't sold snake oil with the stem cell procedure. I don't want to go back for a second procedure and get that first round of needles again! Yikes!

Not necessarily! However I do think the harrex spray has more minoxidil in it as that was told to me by thr clinic! I think thr gf serum is just oils such as argan oil and castor oil that helps promote hair growth

We’ll I would hope all of your reviews are honest however I actually just got my procedure done at smile this past Saturday… I narrowed my choices down to Vera and smile.. but something was off on your first video.. the way you sequenced the event was out of order, it looked like it was a 3 day process when it was really 2.. that was a red flag from me and removed Vera from my choice and ended up at smile.. it’s also hard to believe you when you say you don’t get anything from the clinic when it past videos you stated you had a partnership with them and links to their clinic.. you either got a second procedure for free of heavily discounted

Dude if you got 10k grafts at once you could have had a bad outcome. Especially when it comes to blood supply. I think the amount you got per surgery was still pretty risky. There’s a reason why no doctor in the Is would do a a surgery that large.

To be hoenest 10k grafts in 2 HT's seems like a full stretch but one has to have in mind that all people are different. I know a 55 year old guy, my neighbor who did 2 HT's with over 8k grafts and he's rocking full head of hair. This whole hair loss is still a mystery I mean you have a fairly older guy who did 8k grafts in 2 separate HT's in over a year rocking full head of hair. Then I know some 23 year old guys who also did it with like 2500 grafts to cover their balding spot and they lost the transplanted hair by the time they were 26/27. It is really strange BUT in my opinion, I would wait up until I was 33,34,35 years of age because by that time most of the hair loss stabilizes in vast amount's of men. So i'd say ideally you should do an HT once you get past your 30's, but it isn't good to overharvest your donor area especially today where you have to be utterly picky when it comes to selecting the clinics and doctors. Not all of them are good so all of us have to be very careful. Great video as always Amit
