Manny did amazing in this - he took Andy on and gave him a real run for his money! I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again, seeing Andy run is so inspiring and I’m in awe. It’s like watching a dancer on stage - even when he says he’s struggling, everything looks so incredibly smooth and easy. I really enjoyed this video, nice take on the review videos TRC usually does with all the specs and talking to the camera. Great race! Yoi both went out so hard! I would love to see a more measured 10k to compare and determine if you're stats change less drastically and your form stays pretty consistent. (I imagine that would be the case, but I'm curious how different it would be ultimately.)

The first thing I saw early on was that Manni pulls harder w his right hamstring, causing the left contact time to be so high. The height of heel lift is directly proportional to angle of falling. The same amount of effort (very little) is used to pull up the foot at all speeds, it’s just more gravity flowing through the system forces an increased range of motion. But the speed difference was simply due to sustained fall angle aka lean. Who can hold the line

😱 Yesterday I ran my fastest 5k and 10k ever! I was so happy. I _WAS_ so happy. Manni is a full 20 minutes faster than me! In my defense, I'm running at 600 meters in altitude, cover 218 meters in elevation gain... and I'm 60. I'm really curious on how I would perform at sea level on a flat track. There is no way I can run in 30° weather. Anything more than 13° my performance crashes.

I found the technical discussion about the metrics very interesting - especially given that Andy is an ex-pro. I'm sure we all have a stronger leg so how do we try to rebalance? Pistol squats? NO spoiler who won the race itself but we know who won the trash talk warm-up🤴🏿😂. RACE: Great pace 🚀🚀(far outside my ability). CREW: lots of effort put into filming from all sorts of angles and perspectives, cutting, and I enjoyed your post-race dissemination chat very much, too. WATCH: I cannot afford such a watch but the health benefits of the left-right-balance and vertical movement sensors are undoubtedly worth their money. Having legs of slightly different lengths I notice the negative effect on my muscle chain, hips and back on long runs. Want to run more "leveled" and even and that data could aid in finding insoles of perfect height and tailor Strength&Conditioning workouts to the weaker side. On all my runs I pay attention to limit vertical movement and stride length/cadence to reduce stress on my body. One's got only one body and one health, with or without watch. This clip showed very well why those high-end watches could really be considering and worth working some extra-shifts to fork out the money. Stay healthy, y'all!

Running Form Videos - Great idea. Would be so helpful to avoid injuries. Once I heard AND felt someone coming up on me from behind as thunderous as an earthquake, on hard asfalt. This just reinforced what I've already believed... My stride length is a bit too short and vertical oscillation too high. I'm convinced it's due to poor push-off strength so I'm relying on bounce instead to driving forward. Pretty interesting stats, though. Thanks for posting.

Excellent video production and editing. Perfect to get a dynamic insight to performance and comparison. Does the chest HRM provide the ground contact data and the vertical oscillation? If so it is a clever piece of kit. Do you find you can change your left/right balance to correct the bias as you run and then see the response on the data? Well done to the whole team.
@runningchannel2 жыл бұрын
You can adjust balance based on feedback through the watch but it's difficult to manage throughout the run. It is usually more effect when you're analysing post-race, to see which side you're favouring.
