I never expected to get a comment from one of the developers of the games I play. What was your role, out of curiosity? And yeah, I've found that such spin-off titles are often better than people give them credit for, so I just had to try them while I was going through these series. Even with the criticisms I made, I genuinely enjoyed playing those three games, so thanks for being part of that! I think The Lost Frontier in particular is seriously underrated by the Jak and Daxter community.

Great video! I’m way late for responding, but if you haven’t yet check out Blasto. Difficult, fun, ambitiously ahead of its time…and despite some flaws it likely had some influence on the games you mentioned here. Also, Tomba! Is an amazing twist on the platformer genre…should’ve become a bigger game/franchise (2 games) than it did. Cheers!

Strafing made the combat generic in rac compared to the unique puzzle approach of the first game
