10lb springer caught on the fly | Dochfour | salmon fishing Scotland 2024 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Shout out to Gavin Brown, who came up with the pattern for the 'Junction Shrimp', the fly that our regular visiting angler Jim chose to use, as we boated down the Netting Water.
Once again we encountered a very stiff north easterly (upstream) wind, that had a very cold edge to it. Water temperature was 9 degrees, air temperature was 11 degrees, although it felt much cooler. The gauge on the upper beat read minus 2 inches.
Jim opted for a 5 foot fast tip on his floating shooting head, and his 15lb maxima ultra green lead to his size 8 junction shrimp double.
The sound of that reel though, purest music.
Another bar of silver in the net too.
