Ian Smith - or Harold Bishop as he's known to Neighbours fans around the world - is a beloved institution when it comes to the Australian and UK small screen. He came to 10 News First to reveal the reason he's leaving the soap opera for good - his terminal cancer diagnosis. He spoke with Angela Bishop about his love for life, Neighbours and his thoughts on the future.

Aw Iain. Never met this man but growing up neighbours was a big part of my childhood watching it on bbc one when home from school used to be so jealous of the weather as it would be dark, cold and either snowing or raining. Always made me laugh when Harold and lou fell out. Great times. All the best Iain.
