Those that have played baseball have probably hit off a pitching machine a time or two, but have you ever seen a catching machine?

Everyone saying buy a pitch back hasn't thrown hard at a pitch back, ball goes everywhere and the springs explode.
@jh98757 жыл бұрын
Got it, a wooden box and a ball feeder on the bottom. That took 18 hours a day for years to work on?
@PTCKSCRD6 жыл бұрын
If that thing measured MPH, EVERY little league parent would buy one.

I would totally buy one of these if it were just a touch sturdier. But definitely with a little refinement this can be a great invention!

In little league I just took a piece of charcoal and drew a strike zone on a cinder block wall

Nice idea but I like throwing against a wall. You get to pick up grounders while you're at it.
@shawnkulzer54366 жыл бұрын
I always used exercise trampolines from the 90s. The small ones that were 4 feet wide. Leaned it against the shed and threw at it. When you connected. It would bounce back to you.

If it's for teaching then he needs to attach a sloped net behind the box that also sends the ball back to the player for missed balls

15-18 hours a day on it for 5 years? WTF! It's not that complicated, it just funnels to ball into a slow moving pitching machine that returns the ball.

why did they film this in front of a public bathroom?
@Rectitude4U6 жыл бұрын
Needs to be bigger so it catches all the balls and you don’t have to pick any up. Maybe put in electronics to keep a count. Maybe a deluxe model with a camera so you can playback later, or even get consultation from a remote pitching coach. It’s a great idea, being the father of a pitcher who was unsafe to catch without gear on by the time he hit 16, I like it. You could keep the cost down by eliminating the toss back, just give the pitcher a bucket of balls and have a collection bin on the catcher.
@corbinjohnson95946 жыл бұрын
Frank Steen If he eliminated the throwback feature the machine would basically become a square screen.
@Rectitude4U6 жыл бұрын
Corbin Johnson yeah, but with all the other stuff I said, nobody has that. The throw back isn’t necessary, unless you only have a couple of baseballs.
@gregoryeverson7416 жыл бұрын
so then the machine is worthless if u get rid of the ball toss back, just pitch at a wall with a square on it, if u can buy this machine u can buy 20 baseballs, and go pick them up yourself this is a dumb idea
@Rectitude4U6 жыл бұрын
Gregory Everson if you pitch at a wall your baseballs won’t last long. Did you think that through?

I always just pitched a bucket of balls into a hitting net. Much cheaper than this machine would undoubtedly be and doesn't require electricity
@notbilly59627 жыл бұрын
The machine isn't necessarily for every home. It'd be for professionals who want to practice pitching. Although the machine does need padding
@boneshow007 жыл бұрын
Justin Poole professionals don't use this lmao, they use real catchers

I think this is a great idea and I'm not trying to hate in any way. He was saying how it would be good for kids with dads that travel or single moms, but my mom has always caught my pitching..? why can't moms gear up and catch their kids? or are girls just not meant to be involved in sports? :/
@blaynewilson15497 жыл бұрын
No one said they can't gear up or couldn't gear up and play catch but chances are as a single parent they have a lot on their plate and can't always make time to play catch. This would be true regardless of it was a single mom or dad. No need to bring female's inferiority complex into the situation especially considering the plethora of women, professional and amateur, that are involved in sports now a days
@stephanieg85457 жыл бұрын
Blayne Wilson I was just making a statement. No need to get your panties in a wad.

@tssrloki84747 жыл бұрын
Maker and let the ball fly around your yard if you throw fast at a pitch back you have barely any time to catch it and if you don't throw a strike it will go flying away from you unless you have a ton of baseballs and a big open Felid the throwback machine is much better

wait.. why 15 hours a day for that many years??? Take a pitching machine.. Set it to 40mph lower it and make an angle swing plate so you can change the angle of throw back for height.. make a box with a return hole and tray.. I could literally make this machine with padding for 500 bucks
@gregistopal7 жыл бұрын
That's dumb

Looks like I won't need my dad anymore. I'll just text him while I'm on my iPad while I have mcdonald's for lunch to tell him I have replaced him with an automated catcher /pitcher. America, what have you become?
@howardbaxter25146 жыл бұрын
What’s wrong with innovation? This guy has created a machine that allows pitchers to practice without needing someone to be there. You can’t replace a true catcher of parent/friend/teammate, but you can substitute them if they aren’t available
@howardbaxter25146 жыл бұрын
Also, like he said, the main target group would be people with traveling fathers or busy single parents:
