Hi Can you tell me is this also called" taking the inrease stitch into the rib pattern "
@10rowsaday2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Karen, the idea of increasing stitches in pattern is the same for all stitch patterns, including ribbing. Happy knitting :-)

Thank you. Searched all over you tube regarding this stitch and have found how to do it. I'm almost up to the sleeve on my project which is where I need to use it. So I'm happy 😁😊. Thanks for you reply

Can I do the same for a mesh pattern too?
@10rowsaday Жыл бұрын
Of course! The idea is the same no matter the stitch pattern. Good luck!

Another great tutorial. Thank you. I wish you would do a video on how the knit a perfect V-neck ribbed collar. I always have trouble with the point.

That's a great suggestion! Thank you. I've just added this topic to my to-do list. V-neck collar makes any sweater look well finished, I'll do my best to figure out the simplest way to do it right. Stay tuned :-)

Thank you, NanaQ :-) This sweater is one of my favourites. It would be the next pattern I'm going to make.

I love your videos and always find them incredibly helpful. I do have a question though. I am trying to increase a one by one rib at one stitch at the end of every 6th row. I am having trouble because I end up with a big hole/gap where I increase. Any suggestions how to remedy this? Thank you.
@10rowsaday Жыл бұрын
The issue could be in the increasing method you use. Try lifted increases described at www.10rowsaday.com/lifted-increases They don't form any holes. Good luck :-)

How would increasing work in lace stitches while keeping the pattern looking nice?
@10rowsaday6 жыл бұрын
That's a great question, Jesse! Usually, you would work the added stitches in stockinette stitch until you get enough stitches to add another repeat. Happy knitting :-)

Thank you very much this is helpful so far. I'm knitting a sweater which has a 6 stitch 6 row repeat pattern. The amount of stitches to be worked at beginning and end of each row before the repeat ** starts are all different. I just can't figure it out at all!! 😞 Any tips from anybody would be most helpful and very much appreciated 🙂 Many thanks ❤

Hi Rosemary. If you are not sure how the stitch pattern works out, test it on a swatch. See whether by following the stitch pattern instructions you get the right texture. This little exercise will give you more confidence when you start working on the project itself. Good luck :-)

Hi Sophia. So glad this tutorial helped you master increasing in pattern. I'll definitely make a tutorial about decreasing in pattern sometime soon. Thanks for the suggestion :-) As to the additional consultations, I'm going to do it in monthly Q&A sessions on my Patreon page (the link is in the profile). Patrons submit knitting questions and I address each question in a special video. The August Q&A video is planned for August 31.
