Your Welcome... I wish I could but it's just not in the cards right now...

Love to see your tours of vintage machine repositories. Wish I had the space to have some of these old classics though I lack your talent and patience to restore these beauties.

Steve, thanks for sharing, wish I had a place big enough to take on John's project I don't and I too getting to end of my lifetime, too. Hopefully, someone will step up and take it over. John couldn't offer his equipment to anyone more unique than Matt, hoping he cherishes it for a lifetime. And that odd shaped shop John has, there's a story behind it, if John hasn't already told you about it. Ken

Thanks for the Toolmaster information! I think that seal is leaking on mine as well. Also thanks for the tour of Matt’s shop. I have been following his thread on PM. I hope someone gives John’s lathe a good home. It is not for me, I need fewer projects, not more. I will say I am somewhat envious of the plentitude of machine tools you have down there. We are in what amounts to a tool desert. What you can get for the hauling down there is high priced here.
@10swatkins2 жыл бұрын
It's only been in the last two years that things have become available, well at prices I can afford... I just came back from a trip to Arkansas and have made many trips into Oklahoma and 3 so far to Kansas! I usually live in a desert too, just lately has the monsoon season hit here :)

That’s a big boy if that’s the link your talking about nice machine tho I’ve already got a long lathe or I’d be interested plus I’d never be able to afford getting it home I’d have to buy a trailer and a truck heavy duty enough to pull it the 2500 miles from myrtle beach to south Texas and back

Quite nice. Sadly I do not have the room. I have restored a Dalton Type 4 1922 vintage far smaller then the beast under discussion. There is no such thing as just ONE lathe :) I own 4. Nice lantern Toolpost on that lathe....

Hi I would love to talk to you about my plans on a mill I looked for a email for you how ever I can't seem to find a way to reach you. I would love to take on the job of completing with a video documentation of the work to kik off a Chanel I have been gathering what I need in regards to video and audio my first project is the conversion of a radial arm saw to a mill surface grinder doing that and the lathe would be a work of pur joy. I have no way to get a hold of you so I can reflect my commitment to completing a man's project that I would love to blend my project in to his and how I think a video history is going to be half the joy and of great interest to like minded interests. And I am willing to pay the freight to get it to me.

Kinda sombering isn’t it? I kinda hate to think of years of collecting the tools, just when you think you have enough. Its time to thin them out. I hope a good home is found for it. I know my 1939 Monarch 10EE found a good home in my garage. Manual machining is such a dying trade that some day the manual machines may be the only things to remind us of those days.
