Great car! Two things to be careful with: 1. The ESC goes into Low Volt Cutoff very low at about 6.3v. 2. The thermal cutoff does not seem to work. During hard grass bashing, I heard a "pop" and the ESC let it's smoke out. The plastic was melted and the heatsink was hot enough to fry a pork chop. The temp cutoff should have not let it get hot enough to melt.

My friend bought me this for my bday ( he lives across the country) and I had no idea what I was walking into since I've been out of the RC car game for aaaages. I had a RC10 B3 that had some slight upgrades, so some pre-assembled thing? Expected it to be just ok. Uhh, this thing is better built, faster has 4W drive and I'm blown away. My old car cost something like ...$150 just for the frame which didn't come assembled, I think it had the motor? But no servo or speed control, receiver, controller, etc. So it was another $70 for an electronic speed control and IDK how much for the servos since I think I just used one my brother had from the early 90s that he had in his King Cab. So for $130 for something that's this fast and ...pretty damn durable? I'm blown away. My first crash with the old B3 destroyed the shocktower because- naturally they made it out of graphite for some bloody reason. My first crash with this car broke 1 of the arm joints that took 5 minutes to replace.

I know its been a year now, how's the RC? Still running good?

Yup! We run it quite a bit. Had to replace the drive shaft a few months ago but it was super easy.

If I have to put up that buggy to go up against another 1/14 4wd buggy, it would be the 1/14 Tacon Soar Buggy 4WD from NitroRcx. They both look very identical
@10thScaleGarage4 жыл бұрын
Yeah! Super similar
@JasonGN20454 жыл бұрын
The Tacon Soar is a rebranded LC Racing emb-1. The 144001 is a knock off of those cars. I had a 144001 for a few months. It was fun at first but then the rear diff went and then the arms and spindles kept breaking. Got tired of waiting forever for replacement parts so I eventually sold it. BTW lots of the LC Racing replacement parts fit the 144001. But I'd definitely buy an actual lc racing or tacon soar before I buy a other 144001.

Diff dont last more than two good use days and are a lil hard to get from china , best thing to do is put some ticker diff oil when they are brand new. Mine melted the plastic fan inside the motor from running too long on grass , replaced it with Arrma 550 , metal gears , etc.

@@10thScaleGarage i know but brushless is better... not all about spend... i have like 30 rc planes over last 10years and everything is brushless...
@10thScaleGarage4 жыл бұрын
Well, brushless is more expensive, that’s for sure. Brushless also doesn’t have as smooth of a power curve. They don’t have as much torque down low, either. A brushless motor would’ve put this thing in the next price category, losing a huge amount of customers. They could’ve put a 380 brushless motor in it, but then it wouldn’t be any faster than it is with a brushed motor.

Does brushed mean able to go in water or is that brushless
@10thScaleGarage4 жыл бұрын
Brushed and brushless can go in water, but the ESCs, receivers and servos are what you have to worry about. This car is not waterproof. Splashes are probably fine, but don’t run it through water intentionally.

Does the stock motor get real hot for anyone else?? Mine was really hot after 3-4 minutes of running.
@10thScaleGarage4 жыл бұрын
It got hot, not nuclear meltdown or anything. I just use a cheap infrared thermometer that I got from Harbor Freight to check temps. Anything above 240° is hot, and you’ll want to let it cool for a bit. You can get motor heat sinks and fans from Amazon for just a few bucks and they work great.
