That trailer takes all the work out if it. Sweet, never seen one in person yet.

Hands down, the best trailer I've ever used. While I can't speak to Landoll's entire line, the 440 has been an EXTREMELY trusted partner in my work for years. Its 3-axle sibling, the 455, is virtually identical. You'll find they are generally of greatest benefit to towing and recovery companies (from which I started). The winch, the tilt-deck, and the remote control make it possible to self-load a wide variety cargo. They of course, haul as a step deck as well. The traveling tandems are a GODSEND when navigating impossible turns. Beware: that tail becomes a lethal can opener. I think the only drawback to a line-hauling O/O would be the weight. I'm currently operating a Fontaine lowbed, which I've got a great deal of time on as well. But I REALLY miss that Landoll. Made every attempt to get the principals at the regional rental company I work for to look at the 440 and 455, to no avail. They prefer beaver-tail trailers (blah). Clearly, they have no experience with Landoll.

You're 100 percent right, I've operated and still am operating a landoll 318c for the last 6 years. Super versatile trailer. As long as you maintain the undercarriage these trailers are super reliable. The travelling axle has gotten me out of a few near impossible situations. And yes the drawback is definitely the weight

About the tractor mileage: 1.2 million miles over 24 years is only 50,000 miles per year... that's less than the average annual mileage for highway tractors.
