Any stats on how well 1.2 engines are? They've been around for over 10 years now - be interested in knowing how many are still working?

Probably the ONLY genuinely honest review of this car. All other reviewers blow smoke up its arse and it’s simply not that good and the EV is massively overpriced.

I'm thinking you might be the best, most entertaining and HONEST (shouting) car reviewer out there....the new 408 seems a much better option....though the wet belt issues on the 1.2 give me sleepless nights....if only Peugeot did a 7 year warranty....thanks anyway
@chasf343329 күн бұрын
Stellantis would go bust if they offered a 7 year warranty on all their cars. Probably BMW, VW & Audi too!! Warranty length in the motor industry is inverse to reliability
@davidlang362528 күн бұрын
I understand that the latest 1.2's have a timing chain rather than a wet belt. Not that a chain guarantees reliability, there a plenty of European car brands that have unreliable timing chains unfortunately.

Being in my late 70's when £5 would get you a good night out in the West End in my youth, I find the price of modern cars are hilarious, no wonder they are pooping themselves with the thought of Chinese cheapos ! As to the jacket Tim, not your best look - "Le jacket non ici" perhaps :)

I guess the reality is the real-world price of the EV version won’t be that far of the Hybrid version, given the enormous discounts available on all Stellantis EV’s. Probably the same price a year old.

Would probably ride smoother and give slightly better mpg without those huge and no doubt very heavy wheels - style over function yet again.

Not sure what the trend is with all these supposedly family friendly SUVs all looking super aggressive, angular and yet somehow completely bland and indistinguishable at the same time. What happened to curves and swoopy lines and cars with 'friendly' faces...

I've really liked all of Peugeots designs since the last 308 came out, 508 especially. This however, is just plain ugly. Front end has gone very Citroen with the disjointed design. A decent facelift would sort it. Interior is 11 out of 10 though. From the rear its very similar on the road to the new electric Lexus.
@Hellacop626 күн бұрын
Peugeot designer has gone to Renault , hence why these new ones looks so bad and the Renault are nicer now

I had a MK7 Astra with a 1.2 turbo petrol with 145bhp and over the four years I had it did 40,680 miles at point of trade in. About two thirds of that was regular road trips between London to Aberdeen and back which it did with no problems whatsoever and in fact was a terrific motorway car, and often the fastest car on the road bar those driving on suicide missions. It replaced a 1.6T Astra which had 200bhp and I honestly thought I’d hate the 1.2 engine but I really didn’t, I loved it more than the Focus ST I had a for a few years.
