One thing i love about the parks is how it's almost like an alternative universe were the heroes and villans get along. Of course the villains are still villans but it's more like they just there to "bother" the heroes then actually cause them harm and problems.

I agree Esmeralda is my favourite Disney character if Disney bought out Hunchback of Nothre Dame out today loads of young people would be inspired she is the type of role model people are getting inspired by today. Esmeralda is way better than some of the traditional Disney princesses who just wait for a Prince or a male love interest to save them and nowadays girls are why more likely to become feminist than just simple housewives. Disney's Esmeralda deveres to be talked about for she fights for what is right not what is easy. I really wish Disney will think about these reasons and remake their Hunchback of Nothre Dame.

I would honestly fly to Disneyland Paris just to see Esmeralda and I feel like I would cry from sheer happiness if I saw her because she is so rare to see at the parks. It's because they can't get away with the hair-sniffing that the movie depicts. Also, the guy's a mascot-style character in the parks, so speech isn't a possibility either. This is probably the most practical way they could think of for depicting his lust for Esmeralda without getting the parents upset.

I worked at Disneyworld Florida and played the face version of the good judge two years in a row during the Halloween show! Reason they hardly do the face as a wanderer is because of his voice, you have to have his accent just right to wander bare face.. The plastic man you see here is called a "head"

+Lauren Faerber Not crazy hot..the costumes have built in "cooling pads" in them..the only thing about them is the eye holes! The big heads like Mickey, no problem but the slender heads like Frollo and Hook take a lot of getting used to.. in the beginning expect to look like a drunk lol

Certain characters are best realized as puppets, but Judge Claude Frollo is probably better as a speaking actor. The voice of the original actor is not so distinctive as to be difficult for an improvisational performer to impersonate, and the character's appearance is not so fantastical that a person in a simple costume and make-up would be unable to faithfully replicate the look. That being said, though, pantomime is a legitimate craft. It just needs the actress playing Esmeralda to help. Music is also missing. The interactions between the two characters depend upon having something to which the Gypsy can dance.

+matt k. They have the head (plastic man) and in US Florida they have Frollo as a face (real speaking guy) mainly during Halloween..I worked there for a time and actually played him on both incarnations.. They only have guys over 6' playing him..

I'm wondering do they have actual Romani play Esmerelda? It would seem a bit bad given the setting and message of the movie if they didn't. In the US it might be more difficult but surely in France at least finding someone of Romani heritage should be easy enough? Also she is a great dancer.

Pipacs Levendula but the Disney version is not like that, it is based on the 40’s movie and we can see clearly in that film and in Disney’s version that Esmeralda is an actual Romani. The versions where they keep that specific part of the book are very few.
