An idea for helping newer players would be change the campaigns so you have to have a minimum cp to join so they arent just thrown in with the big boys off the rip so could be 0cp - 200cp, 201cp - 400cp, 401cp - 600cp, 601 - 810+ if you get to 600+ and you if dont know what you are doing then thats on you. Would split the numbers on the servers so that pop lock lag nonsense wouldnt be as bad.

I feel like animation cancelling is needed back into the game. I feel like cancelling animation help to get abilities out in lag spike. Since they removed animation cancelling, i feel like its impossible to cast any abilities in lag spike.

Hots AND Dots should not stack but refresh when re-used by another person. Been saying this for 2 years. All MMOs work like this. I think it would also reduce the load on the server side since the server doesn't have to calculate 15 of the same dot/hot ticking at different intervals.

A thing i find funny that I'd like to note. How many people have you all heard complain about fengrushes groups turning into a zerg? (because people have a tendency to follow him even when he isn't partying). Doing the hot non-stack at the very least with the only heal being group members would make it so his followers aren't able to heal them like crazy, only those he invites (which would mostly be his friends), and reduce the perma-staying alive of not just him (with hot nerf) but also make ball group fights more dynamic. Currently they are just running through/into eachother or running in a circle around eachother picking off those that fall off. Anyways, i agree that not sweating the small details atm is better because the big changes mentioned would have a HUGE effect on the pvp environment, and you shouldn't just change everything across the board until you get a good feel of the problems that arise, and change it in stages, plus bigger changes like those are more important for how they can positively effect the environment of pvp. Purges would be something that would need some serious discussion for sure, but it feels more complex. Plus you have to start dabbling into synergies and problems with that. Another note is if they are doing stack healing, they should see how it works before you start changing dot stacking because they work quite differently. Though one thing that probably would need a change with that is seige stacking (more specifically meatbag catapults) if the healing dots stop stacking getting through 8 stacked meatbag aoes would be impossible, they are hard enough with the healing ball groups, but without that healing insanity, there is no way to get through that. Some ideas could be to keep it and do something to encourage making more breaches in the keep, or, making their ticks not stack with eachother. Overall, wouldn't hold my breath, but if they make actually helpful changes, they probably will need to do it in stages to fix immediate problems that arise. They also do need a knowledge backing. The 6 month dot buff than nerfing shows that they may have some idea, but they don't fully understand all the core interactions that different types of pvpers encounter. I don't think they know nothing or are dumb, just have a lack of experience in some parts of what they are changing.

Thoughts on slowing down how players move around the map. Ex. Players flocking to 911 calls (shrine usage), map UI showing keep under attack. Less porting to hotspots/911 and more movement on the ground.

I feel like they need to expand the possibilities you have for shielding other players, at cost to healing. Then you could have one healing that focused on HoTs and healing through damage, and one that focused on shielding others to prevent damage.

The game actually has gone far more down hill than you might think with skill delay people dodging with no animation or dodging while they are on the ground stunned people are constantly out of range within melee range because it shows a person in 1 spot but they wre actually further away because its not properly tracking them and the lagg is far worse than 3 years ago

If HOTs are still a big issue, maybe HOT cooldowns need to introduced. For instance, a HOT that lasts 6 seconds cannot be recast until it finishes

What if in pvp each player had to pick from 4 roles. Damage, tank, heal and support and introduce a limit of 3 of each roles per group Each role has their own independent caps to damage, resistance and healing not only to each role but also to cp and non cp Damage role would have the highest damage cap but resistance and healing would be very low. Tank role would have the highest resistance cap but very low damage and heal role has the highest heal cap but low damage and resistance The only exception would be support role which would have an overall medium cap for damage, resistance and heal to bring an individuality to this role Also some sort of mechanic to take a keep for instance your faction would need to take control of all resources to take the keep and if your faction loses a resource mid attack, your faction loses all progress and cannot take the keep until all resources are under control. This would lead to several attacking players having to defend the resources and spreading out the faction stack Also once inside the keep, to spread players out.even more, instead of just 2 flags needed to take the keep, several flags throughout the keep would have to be taken all at once, giving the defending faction a chance to stop the attack Also once a player dies, they have a 30 second colldown before returning to the fight, which would increase by a certain amount of seconds after each consecutive death. Also only allowing team members to resurrect a downed player would lead to more team play and eventually better team survival

Why in the world do they not run ike gw2 wvw? 4 maps that add to the total score to spread out the all at one spot stacking. Scrolls Hammers just add to everyone get here and mass lag.

The biggest problem is that everyone is crowding into greyhost instead of joining other camps. The other camps suffer with low numbers and only a few hours a day prime time for each faction, yet not the horrible lag or Que's

the issue with aiming heals like the example given at 16:35 is that its impossible to account for people running in front of your reticle while trying to cast it. ask any tank trying to grip mobs into a stack and a sword/shield mob does the cha cha slide real smooth back in front of your crosshair so he can do a shield charge attack. problem here is thats just frustrating and wastes a little resource in pve. in pvp, that dude aint getting healed and prolly gonna die.

Healing in eso is the easiest version of healing in any mmo ever take wow for example you could heal people inside and outside of your group but you have to either target them within group or click on them. Healing used to be even more broken healing through walls ect and they are continuing to dial things back as they should this does not effect pve outside of random world bosses. Within pvp tho it takes no skill to just spam heals on people stamina used to be able to just pound vigor and heal everyone in a aoe so they reworked the skill to be stronger as a single target heal than the aoe morph. Eso still has the easiest form of healing in every way.

The 5th peice is underwhelming and the hp on alchemist can be very valuable in pvp for pushing to a number you need without having to get it elsewhere. If you use alchemist as is, you'd only have bit less than half uptime, which would make the other one better for consistency, but alchemist still will win out in burst dmg, though the gap isn't that big. Alchemist gets 804 while the other gets 756. However, alch can provide higher sustain for people that go the jewerly enchant potion cooldown reduction while also wanting a good dmg burst. While they sacrifice potential weapon dmg glyphs and the sustain itself is a bit lower than 3 sustain glyphs (unless you are argonian), you get the dmg boost while having sustain (and potential potion buff) if you don't use tri-stat recovery potions. It also is a set that works for magicka users, though is more common on stamina. Overall, build dependent, but in my personal opinion clever alch is better, however with certain builds and pure dmg potential, the markarth set is better, although it has other sets to compete with in that respect. I remember fengrush commented on that markarth set in one stream, his statement was saying that the weapon dmg isn't bad, but there are better sets (due to underwhelming 5th-peice). So, take that as you will

Recently the forums have become really censorious, it didn't used to be like this, i got suspended for uttering the words, i think the devs are lazy, which is true by the way. To me they clearly shown just how much they care over the years, and this is just the final nail in the coffin, we care about feedback only as long as it agrees with us, or maybe they just got tired of pretending to care. What a disappointment. The devs are lazy,, normally, even a few months ago this wouldn't have given you even a warning, and now it's enough to get you suspended, like seriously, the wow forum is less censorious than this, and eso is supposed to be a 18+ game. Make what you will of this. I think the devs are lazy, and now i also think they need to grow a thicker skin, being called lazy, oh the horror.

Heals need to change to manual...all of em. Only keep proc helms and set heals automatic..lag would stop instantly... Oh boy the game would become more hardcore however, people will hate that change. IMO it would bring out TRUE healers.... EDIT: He says something similar in the vid lol...

I think we are missing the point here. what is real problem? Its the servers problems. how about everybody who are focusing on AOE damage and DOTs in that Faction stack? ESO promotes AOE and DOTs over the years and everybody is going towards there now plus gaining more buffs or setup to increase damage and getting proc. in faction stack, having 50x DOTs on you won’t lag cyro? isnt that a problem too? So why focus on Heals alone? behavioral change will only make people quit the game overall and for sure the lag will be lesser. Cyrodiil is for massive group play.

In my experiences ball groups rarely care about the map. They go to an enemy home keep and farm them as long as they can. Any ball group ive been in hasn't tried to push a map. Js.

The proc meta got bigger, imo, because the health and armor and hots got harder to deal with by building a no proc damage build. It's easier to get the sets, cheaper for enchants and jewels and now a night blade can feel like an assassin again or a sorc canvlow up a Dk at range finally. But then procs got too popular and own the health and heals in groups is even higher. It's awful the only damage is from procs and all no damage builds are trash cans

I mean other MMOs work with 300 players spamming AoEs on a castle. The problem is they don't want to spend money on better servers. Yet they're milking the player base with gamble crates. They can butcher the game all they want, even if they make the group max size 2, it won't fix the lag.

Seriously its like saying "hur dur.. eve online has hundreds of players in a given instance waging spread sheet war on each other, ZOS is just being cheap!" Historically in this genre, large scale pvp endeavors have never and i mean NEVER been fluid and rock solid and always devolves into low fps laggy nonsense. The main issue is too many people get caught up in the spectacle of it all and disregard the fact that they arent really even playing the game in any sort of influential way.

@@Exeeter1234 For your 1st question, there are many, but if you want specific examples it would be WoW and Black Desert although Australians usually complain since they're far away from the NA server. For your second point, I do understand that it was not possible back then to have a smooth experience, but nowadays if you invest in a nice PC while having a good internet connection. Playing an MMO with good servers should result in a smooth experience. ESO just spit all over our nice connection and PCs to save money, the fact that they decided to change game mechanics over spending money on servers should tell you something. For your third point, Large scale PvP can be meaningful if designed correctly, an example of that would be guild vs guild with equal numbers from both sides with a ranking system for guilds. ESO just have a bad large scale design, you could have a level 20 Argonian join Cyrodiil light attacking from the back and still win the castle because you simply outnumber your opponent. Tech has evolved, the question is, did ZoS evolve with it?

I agree with the healing ideas. I enjoy dps/healing in some groups and the healing mechanics in eso are just lazy. Even a shit player can be effective just spamming radiating regen and other aoe "smart cast" heals. We have some targetable heals existent in the game already such as the wardens vine pull heal (which I believe was nerfed at some point in the last year) the psyjic skill line also has a targetable heal (though not very good). Make more abilities like this and make them worth using. In just about any other game you have to target a friendly player to heal them, via clicking in their frame or whatever. Dps have to aim their abilities, while healers just spam shit and the game chooses who needs it most? Where's the skill in that? Lazy healing has got to go.

Instead of NO-CP and Below level 50 Campaigns and BGs, it should be 0-300 CP, so new players can learn pvp at their own pace and with each others, the way players at launch learned to pvp. Plus, they wouldn't get insta killed by ppl who know what they're doing, using no cp or a low level character to farm noobs. They'd have to buy new accounts to farm noobs.

Forcing people to group and zerg the map like a bot is not gonna solve the lag. Just gonna make more pvpers leave the game. U always do small changes. Let people play how they want to play but change the objectives on the map so people split up more gonna make it lag less. Only real solution is giving pvp a separate server but that's not gonna happen.

Id like to see smart healing removed completely healers should have to work just as hard as a dd and tank to do their job. Healer is totally brain dead anyone with the ability to press a button can do it effectively lets see healers pick out the person they need to heal out of a crowd. Aoes heals should work as normal but targetted shouldnt hit a guy you arent even looking at. Probably gonna get alot of hate from this but IDGAF healer has the lowest skill involved by far its time healers L2P like the rest of us

A toolset issue isn't a L2P issue, this is what healers have to work with, so that's what they work with. We don't live in magical fairytale land where i magically get to transform my aoe or hot abilities in to skill shots and single target heals. @@xstonedsoberx I just think that the smaller the groups are, the less people will want dedicated healers in their group. I've worked really hard on my PvP healer for years and I love taking care of my group and hearing them say "good heals." I'm honestly open to anything that will improve performance, I just don't want healers to become completely obsolete in PvP.

Better work on your proxy builds over the weekend. PVP on console now 12v12 team death match with everyone running proxy, regeneration and VD. Funnily enough hasn't removed lag. Solo or small scale players leaving. Last Friday queue of 70 to get in at prime time, no queue last night.
