11.5 Minutes of Simultaneously Running Only Menards F Units with a Matching Caboose on My Layout!

Here I am simultaneously running my entire collection of 6 Menards F units with a matching caboose. The unpowered red war bonnet still squeaks a bit and the caboose flickers like crazy. Future projects I guess. These run fine on my automation without doing anything more than bringing down track voltage from 18v to 16v so they will stop when needed. Each train has a powered A, an unpowered A, and a caboose. Each train also has its own remote but I just set the speed and let it do its thing with the automation keeping them from colliding. All in all, these are a good deal for the money and are a lot of fun!

Very nice! You can never go wrong with F units. We post-war/MPC operators don't mind some flickering, as it is part of the charm of that era. The flickering on the caboose looks more like the LED unit is going bad. When they start to go, they flicker on and off. The LED's last forever, but the resistor, power supply regulator or whatever term is used, is failing. Either way, that was a cool running session. An excellent video, as always.

@@johnandrus3901 The gauge of the wheelsets is all off on that caboose. It was like that right out of the box. I can slide if from rail to rail and the lights will from on constant to constant off.
