"Comfort" should be defined as it is different for various people. Comfort for someone who hikes in a few miles and then hangs around one camp site can be much different from someone hiking much longer miles or for longer periods of time. I find more gear means more inefficiency as there is more to pack / unpack each night, causing a level of disorganization - and it adds more (uncomfortable) weight. I personally go for better efficiency in camp: quick setup, cooking and then into the sack for an early start the next morning while also providing good sleeping conditions with a good pad, sleeping bag / quilt & shelter.

I took too much stuff, which ties into your comfort because it was too heavy. Pare down the clothes, you don't need a knife or axe...
