Thank you Jay, even though I don't speak German, I found it tremendously interesting to hear different dialects in German, you never cease to impress with your ability to take these stories to next level!!

Glad you enjoyed it my friend. There are dozens of dialects and these are the most fun 🫡

The 'roaring like lions' comment gave me a good chuckle. Nothing like sharing someone sound asleep raring away, while one can't get to sleep. I'm glad to hear that you were able to with all of your bunkmates. I suppose even cotton stuffed in the ears wouldn't help much, with roaring lions close by. And you might not hear the wake up command to 'rise and shine!'

Exactly the problem 😅 you have to stay alert in case something happens, so ear-pro is a no-no most times 🫡

Very interesting! Thanks Brother! Your programs are always awesome! I also love hearing your after action reports! This episode made clear to me the impending doom in the future for our author,, the Russian has an indomitable spirit, their fight and grit for every single piece of home soil, should’ve been a warning ⛔️ to all that this war a different kind of conflict! But as we foolishly put our confidence in superior equipment and discipline we disregard the Most important part which is the fighting spirit of the individual!! The old say goes , “ it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but size of the fight in the Dog 🐕 Cheers 🥂

Cheers brother! Indeed the writing is on the wall for our boy, but nonetheless I find it extremely enlightening to observe the day-to-day life he presents. I'm sure his resolve will be tested in the future 🫡

I enjoy trench diaries so much, especially being presented by someone was was in the army himself. I too, was in the army, the South African army. I was in the reserve and served as an artillery officer, attaining the rank of major. I am so proud of having served my country. We were very well trained and were an effective defence force which made name for itself world wide.

The Bavarian dialect sounds like way Arnold Schwarzenegger talks.

Because Austrians are more or less Bavarians. Decendents from the same Germanic tribe, the Baiuvarii.

Thanks for another chapter. What I took away from this chapter was how much effort the Russians took in making defensive fortifications, yet while on their "heel" in the early days of operation Barbarossa how ineffective they ended up being. The Germans rolled over them quickly. How different things will become in 6 or so months with the bitter winter. Things will become very bad for the Germans. Flys, dust, and heat are a fry cry from the harsh sub zero driving wind that is ahead of them. Especially with the lack of winter clothing, Thanks again for this episode.

I find it interesting how the author commends his adversary for the ingenuity and quality of the fortifications. He's not so bone-headed to ignore it 😎
