Hi Henrik, yes, please do a video on composition. You're videos are very well explained and useful to us all but particularly to beginners.

You need to switch the Drone into photo mode before you go into the camera menu through the three dots in the upper right corner

Another excellent video Henrik. I’m loving the mini 3 pro and having far more fun with it than the Mavic 2 pro that I also own. I also use auto with a fixed iso of 100 and standard picture profile, there’s still some room to adjust the shadows and highlights in post. The Mini 3 pro does a really great job in auto allowing you more time to enjoy the flight and pull some great compositions together, I also use ND filters👍I use manual focus set to infinity as this is an old habit from using my Mavic 2 pro, should I be using auto focus ? does it refocus itself for example when you gimble down ? Great video as always and thanks for the tips.

Yes, for video I mostly use auto with an ND filter. As you say, at the height most drone footage is taken, motion blur is irrelevant. You do need to be careful when yawing, though, to avoid jerkiness.
@TECHDRONEMEDIA Жыл бұрын
it will regardless, this is not a good motion unless it's POI

great video. I shot everything on auto with my old mini 1. it was easier to dial in exposure compensation or just lock exposure. You are so right about cinematic footage as well. Soo many fb groups post "my video is juddery" with everyone responding the memory card is too slow, rather than your movements are too fast for 24fps

Good stuff.. since no motion blur ditch the ND filter. It's low quality glass and there is a better chance of getting a cleaner image.

I like the idea of motion blur when flying close to the ground or hyperlapses. I think I will leave shutter speed on Auto but keep the ISO rating at 100. And If I want motion blur just increase the nd filter to ND64 or higher.

i'm with you on the auto. after a year of constantly changing shutter speed every few minutes and having inconstant exposure if moving around in orbits where it's dark on one side of the building, i just put shutter in auto mode and able to get better shots and focus on actually doing the maneuvers instead of looking at the EV reading all the time. i keep it in pro and fix iso to 100 for day time (200-400 night time) and only put shutter in auto. also use an nd16 just like you and as long as the shutter is around 1/200-300 it really doesnt matter and no one is going to notice any way. oh and in auto you can set the exposure target to any ev reading you like and doesnt have to be fixed on 0.0.

I would never shoot 30fps. What do you need the extra frames for? Nothing is 30fps. Not the movies not TV and not the news. It's an old leftover from the old NTSC TV days that was 29.97fps. And if you want to put footage on KZbin you now have 6 extra frames "per second"! Making your files substantially larger and people need faster data to stream more frames per second. 30fps is useless. Imo. Shoot 24fps always.
@relaxvideo3d Жыл бұрын
What do you need the extra frames for? For 98% of users with monitors refresh rate set to 60Hz? 24p is for cinema, not stutterfree on 60Hz monitors.
@Guest_1138 Жыл бұрын
@@relaxvideo3d I guess 98% of users don't realize the refresh rate adjusts to the content? Or that the monitor adds frames to conform to the refresh rate? Or you can change the monitor refresh rate to whatever you want. We're not handcuffed by Hz anymore, that was the old days and a further leftover from the 29.97fps interlaced NTSC video days. You can set it to 48Hz or 96Hz if you must. And what are you worried about stutterfree?? So you hate watching movies and TV?? Is that what your saying? You're saying cinema stutters??? No? So if you like movies, why wouldn't you want to make your content in the same way? And still, shooting 30fps is adding 360 frames per minute. And most youtube videos are talking heads. No real motion to speak of. Again, why shoot anything at 30fps? Either you're shooting a KZbin video of someone talking, or you're making a movie.... But if you like storing extra data to see someone talk at 30fps.. hey, knock yourself out. It's just totally unnecessary. The only thing you might want a higher frame rate for is video games. But that's another topic.

This is advice for "best footage directly to social media". It is not good advice for best quality footage. "The hassle of exposing properly with ND filters..." smh.
@TECHDRONEMEDIA Жыл бұрын
Why? Did I really say that - what I meant it’s not worth the hassle going for specific shutter speed when you don’t have variable aperture
