Thank you Jenny! I’ve had a couple people comment that they like a short recap where they can see the info all on one place - maybe even take a screen shot - so, I’m going to try to remember to do that on these information/list type videos. ❤️

This is a great video full of so many frugal ideas! You should put “ No Cost Ways to Refresh…” in the blog title. This mindset is gentle on the pocketbook. I’m going to try out ALL these ideas over the next few months as I want to refresh for the holidays.

So many beautiful ideas.. I love rearranging the furniture from time to time, since childhood I have seen my parents do it, now I do it with my husband.. We might think we have tried out all the options n ideas but still all of a sudden somerhing will just click n you try it n you have as if a totally new room in your house! The textile idea is also very charming, in fact anything that is natural, may it be cloths, earth pots, wood, plant based seasonal produce, it just adds to the calm n peace of the surroundings.. Your point about decorative yet functional is so true too.. I just love n wonder, in so many ways our telepathy matches with people unknown to us, from unknown parts of this beautiful world.. it is quite fulfilling n reassuring.. gives boost to try out new ways to enrich life.. ❤

Good morning🍎🌻🌲 my comment will be on number 7 repurpose! So much plastic and so much packaging out there- it's good to see use and repurpose in things- it is economy of choices and also the amount of trash one creates- there are some people who even think that putting trash in a trash bag made for the purpose of trash is sort of wasteful! Whereas they might look to reuse a potato chip bag or something for that purpose while this may not be practical at all for the most of us I believe it is something that still has to be honored and respected...🌈

So, so much packaging! I like that idea of using product packaging instead of standard garbage bags. You’re going to throw them away anyway! Repurposing is so important and we should do it as often as we can ❤️

Well if I am to be honest lol. I’ll have to admit that I may go hit a thrift store to change things up a bit. But mostly I already know that Bcuz of the cats, I’ve had to get creative with “furniture covers.” So mostly I would just go “hunt down” some linens or tablecloths and maybe spend $3-6 on one or two things. This might only work for cheapos like me tho. 😅😅 I don’t always need a new thing tho. These days I just usually hit this one thrift store on their monthly half price day and just keep an eye out for potential “upgrades.” Lol. On that day I might could find a lovely quilt even for only about $3-4. I have this thrifted love seat that doesn’t really go with anything and a queen quilt used as a sofa cover works really well to cover that and make it flow/match. Oh yes. For sure tho. I pretty much do “systems tweaks” all the time. Mostly that’s bcuz I’m always looking for ways to cut out chores or make them faster or easier. Mostly I just pay attention to when I tend to put a certain task last or to the next day or avoid it altogether. That’s when I know I prob need a “systems tweak.” Porch project was like that tho. We had all these bricks and blocks laying around and they are now my “edging” for the yard around the “cat porch.” 😬 (As well as moving pavers I already had). And yah. Speaking of systems, that’s why I “moved” the strays from the west porch to the east porch. I think I still need a few tweaks for the porch but it’s much better to have the whole show on the east side. Although there was SO much raw dirt over here so it was a lot of work to get a good chunk of it covered. I also found some leftover tiles and a garage mat and things like that. And borrowed a wheel barrow and took some old concrete “sub flooring” off of someone’s hands that they didn’t want as well as some wood posts/planks and a sheet of wood. I spent some money on other things I needed but I’m pretty sure I saved myself at least a few hundred on it by foraging, asking around etc. lol. I guess the point being that it really pays to ask around or look around for free things first and then check out cheap places before you hit any full price retail joint. But as far as the thrift store, sometimes that one new thing can change a whole room. And at times if I do that I’ll go one in/one out with it. I think it’s fine since some of my furniture covers etc are cheaper than a fancy coffee or a fast food meal. 😅😅 And the cool thing about it is nobody knows. It looks surprisingly good…and they don’t even know you just did a “Cinderella” dirt cheap room/porch/landscaping redecor. 😅😅 The way I look at it is that those things once were “new” and they used to be in retail stores. And esp if you go vintage or retro you can still be “fashionable.” But mostly I just go with what I personally prefer and rarely do I ever have to go retail for it anymore.

Very true! The amount of awesome things available at thrift stores is incredible! And you’re right…nobody knows that you didn’t buy them brand new! Sounds like you had a successful porch project for the Cats! All ready for winter? ❤️

@@ArrowHillCottage Lol. Almost. Just need to put up the back siding, put a little gate/door somewhere (prob with a kitty size cutout) for feeding and when it rains, and a bit more pine straw for a couple of yard dirt patches. Well then after that might can think about beds/mats/heater/heating pads. Already have some “magic mats” and fleece baby blankets and a few heating pads I ran across. Lol. Don’t really need them yet. Prob will be quite cold at night in a about a week or so. Not sure if they’ll go for it but I had fun making it and got rid of so much dirt mess and dirt tracking. Lol. They even got some “ceiling insulation.” 😅😅 (that was funny too Bcuz some of it is the foam packing I saved from Misfits Market deliveries). The upper East porch is pretty swanky also (canvas tarp “curtains” etc lol) so some of them just hang out up there but the ferals only want to come up when humans aren’t around. lol. Plus East porch is more alee away from all the cold and winds etc. (West porch gets ripped to shreds every year so much we had to tie down the patio table and chairs and tarp “curtains “😅😅).

@@ArrowHillCottage 😂😂😂 My original thought was save it for kitty basket/box beds. Lol. Maybe that too. Bcuz truly I’m just making it up as I go. Lol. We used to have a lizard also so idk. Maybe just stick a terrarium heat lamp down there or such. And lol. Yah. Ive been watching all these frugal channels lately and I’m over here like dang. I never knew how frugal I already am. 😂😂 I don’t want to be cheap or a pack rat but I do want to be somewhat frugal. lol.
