I like your style and home so much that I am commenting and clicking Like even before watching the video! 🥰 Edit: Absolutely wonderful and refreshing!!! I like the perfect balance of dark wood, semi-dark wood furniture with wooden floor and bright white plain walls throughout the house. The vintage old-style furniture, cabinets and chest drawers on all levels and spaces add the required warmth to the aesthetics plus the neat clear flat surfaces bring the calm neat vibe.. Your house is my most favourite among all the minimalists channels I watch, somehow it makes me feel at total ease and comfort.. If you remember (I did my remodeling of the kitchen 6 months ago and) your kitchen's lack of upper cabinets was my most favourite feature in there which I copied and got rid of upper cabinets on 3 out of 4 walls.

You always have the best tips out there. Is there a reason why you prefer a broom over a vacuum?

I think if I had an electric stick vacuum I might go for that. But we have the plug in / bulkier kind - so it’s just easier to grab the broom ❤️

I know I'm strange but I love having my laundry folded and put away. Another is to take out the trash. A rule in my house has always been "nothing on the floor". I raised 4 children born a total of 5 years apart. It was a safety precaution keeping the floors cleared of objects. The biggest bad habit that I could never stop from doing was leaving drinking glass around the house. I just developed the habit of collecting glasses as I go from one room to the next. In their defense we live in the Arizona desert and getting enough liquids is imperative.

Love your videos. I always look forward to them. Was wondering if you have a PDF of your list at the end. I started typing it up as a reminder then thought I may be reinventing the wheel so I should ask. Also... just FYI... for some reason your "website" link is adding on some characters at the end when clicked so it doesn't look as though it's taking me to your page. The other links seemed to work. Just wanted to let you know since it immediately started asking me to click other things on the page. TIA

Great video that has given me some useful ideas however, it has left me wondering if I work particularly slowly. For instance, no way could I create that mixture and scrub all the grout in my bathroom in one minute.
@ArrowHillCottage
@ArrowHillCottage 5 күн бұрын
I suppose I should have been more clear on that point. You can mix up the mixture to have on hand…then, 10-15 min before you shower just set a timer for a minute and scrub a POrTION of the grout. You can do this over the course of many days until all grout is clean. The mixture can store for over a week. I just keep it in my bathroom ❤️

I alternate between these 2 tasks in the bathroom between proper cleanings: 1. Before flushing the toilet, grab a square of toilet paper and dust the flat surfaces (top of the tank, toilet seat, behind toilet seat) 2. Buff water spots from the sink's faucet

Hi Angela, Thank you for the great video! Useful, as usual🙂! I found out that (for me) the most pesky issues are tons of small things. Receipts, some staples, notes I need to take care of, plastic bags I need to recycle, newspapers I didn't finish reading, etc. Nothing big (the "big decluttering" has been behind me almost completely for a long time already) but the small things create the visual clutter that is my "biggy"🙂. I am very environmentally conscious, so I carefully consider how to eliminate some of those things. Throwing them into the trash would be easy; problem solved. Not for me. However, I am more conscious now, of what I bring to my home, so my visual clutter is definitely decreasing - just not fast enough. But I am aiming there, lol! Thanks again!
@ArrowHillCottage
@ArrowHillCottage 10 күн бұрын
It’s amazing how all those little things can add up visually! Good for you for recognizing it is an issue, and being mindful of how to go about finding a solution instead of just taking ‘the easy way out’ by throwing them in the trash. ❤️

Greetings from Raleigh. (As opposed to Atlanta lol). Hanging out at my kid’s place and getting the ball rolling with realtors and going to see various things like used campers, used tiny homes, etc…this week. I also love “go at my own pace with no interruptions or time commitment” patches of time. You’d think I’d have plenty of that at the current home but as it goes I never know when I’m gonna be annoyingly interrupted (and not by cute animals or fun kids…these folks are SUPPOSED to be adults 🙄😅). The transplanting of the tree. So metaphorical for me. The importance of where it’s planted cannot be underestimated Imo. They say things like bloom where you’re planted but nothing good is growing in a cold, dark, desolate, toxic wasteland tho (not your tree but where I had been stuck for way too long). At some point you just finally know that your must claw your way out to better land. At least I have more control over such things than a tree does tho…as a human. But I still hope the tree makes it too. It is in good hands. Godspeed to both of us. 😊

@@ArrowHillCottage Aw shucks. That is so sweet. ☺️☺️☺️ Some days I wonder still…am I right? Can I pull this off? Will the change in environment really make it better? Or not? What am I even doing? I don’t know what I’m doing at all. 😅😅 I wonder if this is even possible? and so on. But at this point I can see that the same old same old is a predictable yet unhappy outcome. So it just makes more sense to try something different…even if I’m not totally right about it. Lol. But deep down I really do think I AM right about it. Lol. Or rather as the challenges present themselves…you just have to keep holding on to a little hope like that. And that means not always getting to feel so comfy with a bunch of certainty and guarantees.

Completely disagree on microwave, personally. Microwave is SO much faster! Oven and stove take so long and dirty a lot more! NOT a fan. Microwave forever! My mom saves ALL THE BOXES, so many things 'just in case', and it drives me nuts! Just STOPPP! Her hoarding drives me crazy! X'D X'P

My mom has clocks EVERYWHERE, and it's SO annoying! You don't need so many clocks! X'D My mom has, like, 10-20 boxes of decorations for every holiday, and it drives me NUTS! Espec 'cause she SAYS she likes to decorate (I hate it, largely because of her BS), but then she guilts us into helping when it comes to take it down. You only need a FEW decorations! Not a few BOXES, just a few THINGS! Not a lot! And yet, she goes nuts! And none of us kids want any of it, so when she dies, WE are gonna have to deal with it! UGH! Pisses me off! ;A;
