Thank you for this well thought out and presented video. Your consistent tempo across all the exercises you demonstrated is inspiring. Even the front squats (even with your back screaming at you). This is high quality content and should be shared with others just atarting their resistance band journey.

Truly one of the most thorough videos I've seen about resistance bands set ups. Movements themselves can often be self-explanatory if people are intermediate/advanced gym owners but a detailed video on how to create tension is very helpful. Presumably you track which bands you've used for each exercise and number of reps, in a similar way you'd track weight and reps if using dumbbells? I'd also be interested in seeing a full week of training to get a sense of the breakdown between dumbbell movements with a bench and resistance bands movements with this set up! Last question: do you prefer this bar to the J Bryant Fitness Resistance Band Bar? If so a comparison video would be great

I haven't used the J Bryan Fitness bar, but the GEKU aluminum Alloy one is my current bar and it is awesome! You can see that one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5PUZJmOrMp9rqM Note, I am now using them with the Serious Steel bands, NOT the UnderSun (the 2024 version are crap in my recent purchase of UnderSun)

Have you considered using Serious Steel 32 or 37" bands for a better bottom resistance range on some of the exercises?
@GamerBody10 ай бұрын
No, only because it would be awkward do only move in a tiny range of motion. I usually do 2 reps after failure (partial reps) to try and make sure I failed out and had nothing left in the tank.

Do you find that there are some exercises that feel better with bands or dumbbells or calisthenics vs the Spediance? For example, skull crushers with dumbbells are preferred over the the other modalities or push-ups are preferred over the other modalities.
@GamerBody10 ай бұрын
Oh of course. One that comes to mind is split squats. Those are way better with dumbbells. Same with overhead press - I'd rather do seated OHP with dumbbells than resistance bands and the bar. There's always going to be issues in some plan though, just can't get around it. My goal is to minimize that as much as possible with the equipment being used.

Great video, thank you for posting it.I have a question, on the aerobic platform, my concern is would the bottom of the platform wear down or possibly tear the bands eventually, or is the platform rounded and smooth at the bottom?
@GamerBody10 ай бұрын
There is an "indented" section the bands fit in nicely, and it is rounded. I have used the same one for a long time with both the UnderSun and Sunpow bands and only the X-small band ever snapped (and that was right out of the box). Otherwise, the bands have done very well.
@DeanHenry-hm9bd10 ай бұрын
@@GamerBody that’s great to know, you for the information, that was one of my fears with the aerobic step that it wouldn’t be rounded or the bands couldn’t handle it long-term.

@@DeanHenry-hm9bdUse a towel covering the Band so that on the side the towel is moving around the edges of the plfattform and not the band itself. The towel itself will be pretty used after using it for months, but its worth it. I have rogue monster bands and they are more the sticky rubbery type and not so smooth that hey would slide around edges and a towel really helps with that. I also use the towel when using undersun bands, just to be sure they will not snap.
@DeanHenry-hm9bd10 ай бұрын
@@rockweapon7895 thank you for that tip, I appreciate it, I’m going to use the towel like you said, I have 3 sets of Undersun bands myself, so that’s good to know thank you so much again for all this information. I really appreciate it.

Hey there. I've purchased most of the items for your banded workouts (TY for the links/suggestions), but I have two issues/questions: 1) I can't help but think one would be engaging their pecs better with a pushup during the concentric phase with the aid of gravity vs. a chest press with bands as the bands provide the least amount of resistance at the beginning of the exercise. Yes, one may "grow out of" pushups as they progress, but still, with the aid of gravity, I feel like a banded push-up is going to hit my pecs better during the concentric phase (as opposed to my triceps) with the aid of gravity vs. a banded chest press. Am I thinking about this correctly? 2) If you can think of any pec-specific exercises with your banded setup, please let me know. I have an old motorcycle injury where my right tricep is 50% as strong as my left, so it's hard to hit my pecs before my tricep gives on with regular exercises. I've tried securing a band to a fixed point and pulling it across my chest while standing with a fly motion, but in order to get enough resistance to tire out my pecs, it's difficult to pull such a beefy band with my arm extended. Many thanks for the content!

The reason I don't do banded push-ups is because they are extremely uncomfortable with the larger bands. I think it is a decent exercise and I would use it, but I just hate performing it. If there is a way to keep the bands off your palms, while still being able to get into the exercise position safely, I am all ears :) Have you taken a look at the program I have with resistance bands? I have one option with a bar and the bands, and another option with handles where you can put it under the platform, or around your back. Both work the pecs great but will have some involvement of the shoulders and triceps.

@@GamerBody We'd have to construct two platforms, about the size of sanding blocks, with room for the bands to pass between the block and the floor. Hrmm..

The foot step, bar, and handles are really unnecessary because you can simply grab bands directly, and use a foot stool instead
@GamerBody10 ай бұрын
I mention this in past video, but I hate grabbing the bands. Very uncomfortable, can be hard to hold, and if the band goes across your palms, it will make you want to end a set early to adjust. Grabbing the handles is great. the reason the step works well is for standardizing each exercise. This may tracking progressive overload way easier as it is always the same width. It also gives you some pre-stretch in the band as well which is a small bonus. A step stool could work, but I found this to be great for most people to be able to easily purchase and get going vs. trying to find another option on their own.
@sagemagus12610 ай бұрын
@@GamerBody you can also use stance width to standardise the stretch because you can loop around your feet for progressive overload. The foot step won't accommodate multiple bands for progressive overload either
