G'day Bill, the flocculant wasn't being drawn down into the leak, that is how it sinks normally. When it is activated in water the granules turn into long polymers and sink as they conglomerate with each other and suspended particles in the water. Thanks for the video mate

Hello Nathan, I know what your describing and saw some of that action on the South side of my pond. Turns out the leak was 16 feet down. I'll show how I finally got the leak stop in an upcoming video. Thanks for taking time to comment. Hope your safe and away from the fires I see on the new here.

Bill, did you ever get the Soilfloc to work? I'm trying to fix a 1 acre farm pond and the price for bentonite is over $50,000. Soil floc is much more affordable but not if it won't work!
@billburkhart2 жыл бұрын
Hello DW C. Video 112 shows the final fix, soilfloc would never had worked with the leak source being 16 feet deep. In my case Soilfloc was a waste of money. Not sure what to tell you. Finding the cause of a pond leak is frustrating and expensive isn’t it? Good luck with your project, keep me posted. - Bill

Jorge, Did you put bentonite in the pond? What was the results? I have a 50 x 50 pond that goes way down in summer,then fills in winter. I want to plant water plants in there and other things to clear up the water and make it a pond full of life, but It needs to hold water first, so I dont want any chemical.
@cutweldngrind2 жыл бұрын
@@diyoregonnowtexas9202 I did add some bentonite into a small test pond made in very sandy material. First dont rush things like I did and go for the sprinkle method because it's not the best practice. I actually had to drain the pond and add a layer of bentonite about 4lbs per SF. I sprayed a bit of water over the bentonite and covered it with a 3 inch layer of soil. I compacted soil by hand but would use a roller for a bigger project.

Damit is the exact same thing as soulfloc. With soulfloc you get a (part A) wich is the exact same thing as damit that turns into a goo and settles to the bottom for a quick plugging action of any hole thes seeps and (part B) wish its basically the same thing as part A but at a much slower rate for any hole that part A doesn’t plug right away apart B will plug later.

Hi Jon, it didn't last very long and I moved on to another idea to stop the leak. I finally got the leak repaired by doing some aggressive excavating. Enjoy your summer.

In order to fix that leak you need to inject into the soil on the dam face a water reactive hydrophobic polyurethane. The reaction time of the product can be adjusted so that it reacts once the product has traveled down the water channel through the dam. It will react and expand rapidly, stopping the leak throughout the entire path of water which will provide a permanent repair.

Hi Bill, The soilfloc pond sealer contains polymer. Is that environmental friendly? I ask as i can get here (in Thailand) sodium bentonite with a polymer mix. Not sure if I should do that but so far I can't get pure sodium bentonite.
