@@SittinginaTree The black bear was seen out at Herring Cove (or The Alaska Wildlife Sanctuary, it is about 8 miles out the road south from your cruise ship. The waterfall is located 2 miles further, known as Mile 10 Waterfall.

If you look harder at Ketchikan creek you can see the discarded needles that get tossed into the creek from drug users allot of heroin and meth activity especially park avenue by row of yellow houses

Thank you my birthday present is a trip to Alaska we arrive on the 20 of July through 26 of July I'm going to be 70 .This is the best present ever . We are fishing for 2 days . We're staying in a cabin . We also rented a car .I can't wait . I feel like a little kid waiting to go to Disneyland . My son and grandson are going with us . It is crazy expensive, indeed! I justify it by realizing if I bought a boat, a fishing license, gas, harbor fees, it would cost a lot more! :) My favorite is to mix a can of sockeye with an equal amount of chopped walnuts. Add some craisins, liquid smoke and a little mayonnaise. Wonderful dip or sandwich material!

Thanks for the video. I'm wondering, did you feel confident about getting back to the ship/dock area ontime when you took your shore excursion? That is one of my biggest concerns when not booking through the ship.

Absolutely. I rarely do excursions with the ship and have never ran into issues making it back on time :-)

In the Caribbean if you book tours and excursions through the ship you won’t get let behind. If you book on your own, you’re responsible for getting back to the boat on time. Good info in your video. Lots of ideas.
